Firearms FS: Springfield Armory - Gerald "Hook" Boutin NM M1A

For Sale: Springfield Armory National Match M1A by Gerald "Hook" Boutin This rifle started life as a standard Springfield M1A purchased in 1992. I carried it to Hook personally in 1996 to have him do his magic. He gave the rifle the full NM treatment: Krieger heavy barrel, NM gas system...

    6.5 Creedmoor Brass Forming

Same here. Shot great but took time to do it right. I have a ton of once fired Hornady match brass (308) that I used. You will most likely need to turn the necks with any brass you use.

    .308 to 6.5 CREEDMOOR

If I am not mistaken the "black stuff" is a nickel finish. I do not believe you will be able to achieve anything with it. I make 6.5 CM out of Hornady Match brass (308, once fired TAP, no nickel finish), but the necks have to be turned because the necks get really thick during forming. Sorry...

    Honing die

Redding doesn't offer it and I really doubt Forster will do another manufacturer. Hornady also does it. However, you have to order it so that they can do it before they heat treat it. At least that was the explanation I received from them when I asked if I could send my 6.5 die in to be done...

making 6.5 creedmoor brass from .308 brass

I make it with Hornady .308 match brass from once fired TAP. I have to neck turn but it is extremely accurate. The wrinkles are from too much lube but they will fireform out fine.

Muzzle breaks for a .308 recommendations anyone?

Re: Muzzle breaks for a .308 recommendations anyone? I used a RAD Rapid Brake. Worked well.

    Neck turning question

I am forming 6.5 Creedmoor from Hornady 308 match brass. Yes, I realize I don't have to do this. I have a large supply of the brass from work. It's free and I enjoy making it. With this brass it is fairly easy to make. I just size it in a Hornady die (expander removed), trim it, expand and...
