Outside of changing the color of your weapon. Is there any real need/reason?

Is it the general consensus that you want to buy a suppressor that allows the removal of the ends so that you can clean them when they inevitable get extremely dirty? Why would you want to have a welded/sealed over a non sealed?

Am I correct in my thinking that a Picatinny mount will not work in a Weaver base but a Weaver mount will work in a Picatinny base?
