    New Sig CROSS

Not that I’m an expert, im not, but the velocity x weight must be 380000 or greater. 140s need to go 2715. 147s need to go 2585. You can decide what works best for you. Plus a pad for temperature, variations like es/sd, and the phase of the moon.

    New Sig CROSS

    1. Looks like my STX with a 20” barrel gets 2700 fps with my 140 ELDM load and 2725 with my 130 TGK load. I looked it up, and this load ( 2700 fps x 140grs) in my STX will not make NRL power factor. Of note, the HXT with the 24” barrel does make power factor. 2800fps x 140gr. 2. Yes...

    New Sig CROSS

My bad, I misspelled HXT. This is where I first heard about the HXT: https://www.vikingtactics.com/sig-cross-hxt/ The STX has the full length Pic rail on the hand guard. The STX is black, the HXT is grey. The STX has an Sig taper muzzle device, the HXT comes with the ring that allows a...

TRG appreciation thread - Part III

OK, I'll play. TRG-22 with laminated stock. Baltic birch core, with the aluminum backbone installed. Zebrawood flanks. Brazilian Cherry cheekpiece. 6.5 Creed. TRG-22 in a KRG W3 folder with ARCA Spigot. Walnut Cheekpiece and bag rider. 6.5 Creed. Both are very accurate.

    New Sig CROSS

Sig HTX is a deal. Has the ARCA fore end that I like, and most of the same features as the STX. But the barrel is 24". Lacks the STX/PRS safety and fat bolt knob. Both of which can be added. Feels like the PRS version without the steel parts and weight. Mine weighs 10.8 lbs with scope...

Coup De Grâce 223 action experiences?

I think part of the fundamental problem here is that a CDG has a larger diameter bolt body (not bolt head) then a traditional 2-lug Remington clone or others. A magazine seated with the feed lips close to the bolt body cannot get as high in the CDG action (as close to action center line) as...

Will suppressor cover sliding forward act as crown or mess with groups?

Silicone dish mat. Some Gorilla tape and some camo tape. I can get 2 covers from a $12 mat. Yes, I’m a cheap-ass. But my AG covers slide around too much. Depending on how tight you make them (so to speak) they don’t slide around at all. Very temperature resistant, and vented with ridges.

    Stock filler

Have you tried duct seal? https://www.homedepot.com/p/Gardner-Bender-1-lb-Plug-Duct-Seal-Compound-DS-110/100212441 I use it, I’ve tried the bags to separate the putty from the stock. I’ve also put lead shot in it to increase weight and dampen more vibration. YMMV.

    223 Ackley Improved

I’ve got a uni-throater in 223 and 6mm. I cut to fit my needs. I recommend having them hand throat it. Measure your magazines, figure out your desired OAL. Measure your ogive at that desired OAL, and that will give you a rough idea of what your freebore should be to support your desired ogive...
