    Best Trajectory from 18" barrel?

Rifleshooter.com took a 300WM and cut the barrel inch by inch from 24.25"-16.25" and recorded velocities. They also used this data to calculate bullet drop to 1000yds. 300 Winchester Magnum: How Does Barrel Length Change Velocity- A 16? 300 Win Mag? | Rifleshooter.com

Trajectory in reference to path? Are you asking about velocity?

flattest 200 yd cal. (hunting/target build)

I guess you would need to specify what distance "long distance" means to you. Are you planning to source a Remington 700 in 6.5CM for $750-800? Or do you plan on buying a common caliber rifle and re-barreling? I also agree with 6.5labs on the ammo availability issue.

    Gain twist

I agree with Lowlight. Although I do not have personal experience with gain twist rifling, I leverage my opinion by the property of friction. Projectiles traveling through barrels with slower twist rates have less contact with the lands (in terms of time). For example, if we straightened the...

New Bolt Action design in my head...

I would say you should find out what programs your shop uses to produce G-Code (Rhinocam, Mastercam, Solidcam etc.) and start building yourself a 3D model. If you don't have access to any of these digital tools (or somebody who can use them), you can always sketch. It is hard to give advice on...

Rifle Scopes Thinking Of Buying These Scope Rings

It is very difficult to have two identical rifles that have the same point of impact. Even if you have two 10fp rifles, they will most likely have a different POI (too many variables involved). This is the argument for needing to adjust your zero (not range zero, but POI zero). Don't get me...

Rifle Scopes Thinking Of Buying These Scope Rings

You'll most likely have to change your zero from gun to gun anyway. It's worth the few minutes to transfer scopes.

    Rifle Scopes Vortex or Bushnell?

The Bushnell 3.5-21 does has a 34mm tube. Perhaps there are slightly less mounting options for 34mm tubes vs. 30mm, but as far as mounting options for a 700LTR, I don't know what options you want besides rings (Badger, Seekins, etc) or one-piece mounts (ADM, Sphur, etc)

Rifle Scopes 20 or 30 MOA base

I suppose the cartridge you shoot would play a crucial role. eg. .260_fast moving light bullet vs .308_slow and heavy. you might not "need" the extra elevation but as long as you can achieve your desired zero, I don't see how more elevation could hurt.

Rifle Scopes Vortex PST 6-24 FFP MRAD vs Bushnell G2DMR 3.5-21

I'm very happy with my HDMR G2. In contrast to the PST, I believe the glass, elevation travel (34mil vs 19 mil), size (13.2" vs 15.5"), and reticle have much to offer. I have shot a PST several times and while I enjoyed shooting it, I feel as though the $300 might be worth the investment.
