My first 1911 was a kimber custom TLE II, But I just bought a Colt XSE. Everything else aside, its a colt. I love it. it shoots well, all around a great pistol. I would love to spend the money on a colt Government GI. looks just like the original

I will have to agree with those that are saying 1911. by far the best pistols I have shot. I just picked up a colt XSE on gunbroker for 850. I also had a Kimber custom TLE II and loved it.

that was my original intention. I was going to send the entire rifle to GA Precision this fall but I started thinking... If Im going to spend 1600 dollars to get everything done that I want, why not just spend the money and get a really nice action? Maybe I will just stick to my original idea huh?

So I contacted surgeon rifles about a new action... as of now, not possible. I would like a quality action for my F/TR rig by the fall so I could have it built over the winter and ready to compete next spring. any thoughts of alternatives? I have a mcmillan a4 stock that is set for a rem 700 so...

Personnaly, I would never support that corporation, they sell items cheaper because they can afford to and they put the mom and pop stores out of business. I would actually pay more for the same rifle at a company based out of the US.... just me though

what about the colt governor? any thoughts?

Im running Badger rings, steel medium high, but Im going to switch to badger alloy high to accomodate a heavier barrel.

I was thinking of using berger 185 grain. I believe it says on bergers website that it would need 1:12 twist. what contour would you recommend for a dedicated F/TR Rifle?
