    Heavy bolt closing

Not an expert reloader, but not total newbie either. I have a problem with Lapua .308 brass necked down for my SPS Varmint 7mm-08. It's hard to close bolt on loaded rounds. I have one of the Callahan Speedloc's in the bolt. I wondered if it just made it feel harder to close due to heavier firing...

    Ruger Gunsite Mags

I am wondering if anyone has tried the Ruger polymer AI type mags? The online store says something like not recommended with other AI systems, but I don't see how that could be seeing the guns shipped with the metal AI mags right?

    Gunsmithing DBM frustrations

Hi looking for advise on DBM problems. I bought CDI bottom metal from Midway, along with one 10 round, and one 5 round AI magazine. I sent B&C stock to Chris for inlet. First thing I did was bolt up and cut screws. No big deal doing that, but mags would not seat. Had to shim with two washers...

    Barrel Length and pressure

Not sure what part of forum this belongs in. I don't consider myself a newb compared to the average shooter, but you guys are not your average shooters/reloaders. OWC test vs. Ladder

I will be working up loads for a new rifle soon. I find the Ladder test more confusing than the OCW test. Doing a round robin of a different charge weights on different targets all exactly the same where you can actually overlay targets seems a lot easier to see your results. You don't have to...

    Load testing?

I have in the past when testing loads for a high powered hunting rifle fired all groups from a clean barrel with one fouling shot. I always cleaned between groups. I am wondering what most folks do when testing loads for finding the most accurate load?

    Gunsmithing Parkerizing

Is plugging the chamber and muzzle neccisary when Parkerizing a barreled action and stripped bolt? I have read some say yes, others no won't hurt a thing not to plug. Is it possible to ruin barrel?
