My 6mm creed semi-custom Kimber 84M Montana is coming in next week. I am getting ready to reload for my Oct WY Antelope hunt. I have selected the Berger 108 Elite Hunter. For my 6mm AR (Grendel) 95 VLD, I use a 0.065" jump. But the Berger Hybrid/Elite bullets are supposed to be less seating...
Went to the range today with my semi-custom 6mm AR based on the HOWA Mini action with a 22", 8 twist and Weaver Grand Slam 4-16x glass. Temperature 68 - 82 F - slight breeze from 7 o'clock - 100 Yards - Labradar. Did not see any pressure signs with any load. CCI 450 primer. COL 2.235" - 0.065"...
I am trying to minimize my load development time and cost (each trip to the range with gas, tolls, and fees is approx $80). Sharing your actual experience is greatly appreciated. In case you are wondering, it is for a 6mm AR / 243 LBC / 6mm Grendel. Thanks.
I have a decent adjustable front rest. The rear bag a rabbit ear one that is angled which works quite well for standard stocks. But, Oryx chasis has a flat bottom rear end. Also, at my range, I have to sit behind a rectangular table-like bench. So the stock recoil pad has to stick out a bit...
I have decided to only use LRP brass. I have a 50-count box of Peterson brass as I yet unused. Un-impressed. The necks (lips) all have to be chamfered (inside and out). Never had this issue with Lapua or Hornady in .223, 6.5 G or 308. I have not weighted the Peterson cases yet...
Ok, many are out there. Oryx, Bravo, Archangel, B&C, Boyd's, ... I want to make a beginner PRC / long plinker for my HOWA 1500 sa in 6 Creedmoor 24" HB. Spending sub $500. Adjustable cheek a plus. Really appreciate your actual experience.
Based on everything I have read here, a standard reamer with 0.18"+ freebore reamer is too long for hunting bullets. I am planning on using the Berger 105 VLDs or perhaps the Hornady 108 ELD-m (yes not the 103 ELD-x - apprently they do not expand well at long distances). Also, based on...
Just bought a HOWA 1500 in 6mm Creed 24" HB barreled action from Brownell's. Hoping to make a light weight mountain rifle out of it. As the barrel is very heavy, I am wondering if it can be turned down and then fluted? if not, a custom barrel is needed. I appreciate any insight / experience...
I while ago I saw a post from a manufacturer who mentioned they make their ARs (.223/5.56) using Kreiger barrels - not just blanks. Does anyone know who that is? I can not find that post. Thanks.
