PRE 64 Model 70 Target rifle

I notice that the NM is shown on a shooting stool. Do you shoot NRA High Power? I shot service rifle in the M14 era.

PRE 64 Model 70 Target rifle

I purchased a 1956 M70 target in 30-06 caliber. Everything appears to be correct except bedding material being visible. Can anyone tell me if Winchester bedded PRE 64 M70 target rifles? Thank you, Dan

    Lawton 7000 action

Does anyone know if Lawton Machine is still in business? I have a 308 bolt for a Lawton and would like to get an action. Can a Lawton bolt be used in a Remington 700 by cutting an anti bind slot in the right lug? Any help would be appreciated. Dan

    Sig SSG 3000 Patrol 18"

I finally shot a sub 3 MOA group Today with my 3000. I was not getting the group I thought I should and found the flash hider was lose. I took it off and installed a brake and shot the sub .3 group at 100 yards with Federal 168 match. Will try at 200 next with my 1000 yard M14 load. I plan to...

    muzzle brake

Kish, did you get a muzzle brake. I made my own clamp on brake for my Tikka 595. It is very similar to the Roedale brake made in Germany. The brake worked very well so I had a number of them made on a friends CNC for all of my rifles. They are taper bored for the specific barrels. I do have some...

    Match rifle

Freezingduck, please look at David Tubbs 6XC on 6mmbr site. He gets good velocity with 4350 powder and one could ask if he has tried vihtavouri in the 6XC. A good friend that worked for a major US cartridge manufacturer warned me about super high velocity in the 243 WIN. He said that their...

    M1A Problem

The problem you describe sounds like insufficient gas to the piston. First make sure the slot in your spindle valve is in the vertical position ( i believe someone else also said to check it). Next, remove the gas piston. Look at your front band and see if it close to the shoulder on the barrel...

    Help with SIG SSG 3000

Can anyone tell me if barrel extensions are available for the SSG 3000? I would like to fit other barrels to my rifle. Can barrels be purchased from Europe at better prices than from SIG USA? Also are the STR-200 stocks available anywhere? Thanks, Dan

Leatherwood 8X USMC Sniper scope repro

Re: Leatherwood 8X USMC Sniper scope repro BrianLara400 I just noticed your question. I am not sure, but will try to find out for you. I had a PRE64 target issued to me for marksmanship. That was long ago and I never had standard PRE64 to compare it to. Hated to turn M70 back in I thought...

Need input for a Garand M1C Sniper Rifle

Re: Need input for a Garand M1C Sniper Rifle You could try Griffin And Howe. They make a mount with 1" rings. I believe it is not the same as originally used. It is a reasonable way to get started.

A Marines' vies on the CMP Vintage Sniper Match

Re: A Marines' vies on the CMP Vintage Sniper Match Joop, I need to make a correction. One minute is two divisions on the turret and that woks out closer to 4 clicks per minute. I personally had a problem zeroing rifle basing correction on 1/4= 1 click. Today I was talking to a CMP armorer...

A Marines' vies on the CMP Vintage Sniper Match

Re: A Marines' vies on the CMP Vintage Sniper Match Joop, I do not have a lot of experience with the scope. I do have a lot of experience in high power shooting but have been inactive for a number of years. I got a 300 yard zero on 7-29 and shot my first Vintage Sniper Match at Camp Perry on...

A Marines' vies on the CMP Vintage Sniper Match

Re: A Marines' vies on the CMP Vintage Sniper Match The winning team had a 398 out of 400. Both shooters gave an outstanding performance. I would like to know if they used original or new barrels. I only shot a 189. Considering building a rifle from parts of 4 different rifles a few days...

Leatherwood 8X USMC Sniper scope repro

Re: Leatherwood 8X USMC Sniper scope repro hrfunk, I just noticed your comments. If I had an original A4 I do not think I would modify it. I have considered scoping an 03A3 with addition of target blocks like the USMC M1941. The rifle would not be legal for the CMP Vintage Sniper Rifle Match...

Leatherwood 8X USMC Sniper scope repro

Re: Leatherwood 8X USMC Sniper scope repro Just another comment on the HI-LUX USMC 8X scope. This scope should work well on a rifle zeroed for one distance. It is not limited to a 1903 springfield. I may put one on a Winchester HighWall. The scope should be great for any gun with...
