Watch Out for Scammers!
We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!
I don't know, those pictures show a LOT of carbon on the barrel. The older AAC stuff leaked a little but not as bad as I see in those pics. I have those suppressors same as you and my M42K has been abused on several MGs. Even on the MGs I didn't end up with that much gas leaking out the back...
Open the can, brother! ;-) I think tripods for shooting (meaning rifle support) purposes are an optional piece of gear for folks wanting to shoot PRS/NRL style matches but also kind be helpful for hunting. I sometimes hunt a blind or tripod stand and a shooting tripod is helpful in those...
I get that but we're all human. And stuff us humans make isn't always perfect. The better companies will take care of the issue though. SureFire customer service, at least in the past, has always been great. I'm sure they will take care of you.
Stay on them, man. I've had quite a bit of experience with various suppressors over the last 15+ years and I can honestly say I've never seen one leak gas that badly. Something is not right. Hope you get it resolved. When you do, please let us know so that we can all learn from it. Take care,
Wow, that looks like a lot of gas leaking from the back of the suppressor around the mount. I have not used that particular model Surefire but have shot quite a few other Surefire suppressors and never experienced that much gas leaking. I would try talking with other users of that model...
I had custom plugs fitted and there really is no better ear protection as far as plugs or muffs go. These cancel the most noise. However, even using these I lost a significant amount of hearing by shooting braked rifles in competition for a couple years. The damage I sustained was concussive...
This is what I'm using. Got it at the end of 2017 and I haven't had any issues with it at all. Very happy with it. https://accurateordnance.com/review-leofoto-tripod/ Hope this helps some.
Wow. Some of the comments and suggestions here are downright scary. Please, listen to @Max . His post is 100% spot on. Please do NOT dispose of lead acetate by dumping it down your drain. Understand what you are dealing with and dispose of in a proper manner. If you don't feel like this is...
I've seen some guys get lucky by doing what @madppcs did and not have issues. I've also seen quite a few destroyed suppressors. It helps to have a suppressor with a tapered aperture line. At least it gives you a little more margin for error. The threads on the rifle will NOT be perfectly...
I very much disagree with this. Suppressors will add some back pressure. Some suppressors add more than others. The FPS gain is from "freebore boost" which is basically this.... the friction on the bullet from the rifling is gone yet expanding gasses are still trapped within the suppressor...
What do you mean by "carbon build up..."? Suppressors do add some back pressure. As a result, you will typically get some carbon build up on the muzzle device. That is normal. Is that what you are experiencing?
Contact the barrel MFG and/or action MFG to get the best answer. I can't think of a R700 or clone receiver where we torque shouldered barrels less than 100 foot pounds. That is pretty much a standard. As others have mentioned, 75 is likely just fine. To be sure though, contact the MFGs...
To answer the original question regarding how many times you can setback a barrel..... It depends. Is it worth it and will you regain accuracy? Again, it depends and maybe. Your first consideration should be do you even have enough cylinder to allow for a proper setback? Barrels with...
I prefer the Dasher to the BR. I like being able to use unmodified proven magazines for peace of mind on reliability. I'm not a fan of fire forming; just don't care for the time commitment. However, as mentioned hydro formed brass readily available and before the year is out a big brass MFG...
I ran three Spartan races last year - Asheville (Sprint), Atlanta (Super) and Spartanburg (Beast) to get my first Trifecta. Also ran a Rugged Maniac and few other brands. This year I'm already signed up for six Spartans to earn a 2X Trifecta medal and one of my "Beasts" in an "Ultra Beast" (30...
That's some great shooting! LOL, Woody is pretty fun to have around. His brutal honesty got my fat butt into the gym! So, don't feel like you are the only one he picks on. Just know the more he picks on you, the more he loves you. ;-) Be well. Be blessed.
