Just stuck this rifle on a UPS truck headed to the Hide Cup. Was excited so thought I'd share here. There are going to be lots of awesome prizes on the table and we appreciate Frank giving us the opportunity to participate. This is one of our TMR (Tactical Match Rifle) products...

You just don't see rifles like this too often...

I've had a very long and, frankly, stressful day. So, figured I'd try to end on a positive by sharing pictures of one of the coolest rifles I've ever gotten to put my hands on. These pictures don't do it any justice either. I am too tired to write up the details, so I'll do that later. But...

    Excellent CS from Timney

Just wanted to publically thank Jeff and all the fine folks at Timney Triggers for the excellent service and thought I'd share my most recent experience. A few weeks ago we had not one, but TWO barreled actions sent in to us for some work. In both cases the customers packaged things, well...

Special build for & with a special young man

The weekend following Thanksgiving we were honored to have a special visitor at our shop. We sponsor Eyan Bowers, a very talented young shooter and a wonderful gentleman. Eyan needed a new competition rifle built and wanted to participate. So, Eyan and his father, Mike, made the drive down...

Pictures from the 2012 Practical Marksman match

I posted this over at the Practical Marksman site but wanted to share here as well. I was honored and blessed to be able to participate in the 2012 PMC Match. I participated as an RO at the match and was able to not only help with a few stages but did manage to sneak in a few pictures here...

Outstanding customer service from Darrell Holland

Wanna talk about customer service? I called Darrell Holland to ask if I could get a couple pictures from them of three different stocks so my prospective customer could pick which one he wanted. You know what Darrell's response was? He is shipping me all three stocks so we can decide if any...

It doesn't suck to hang out with your congressman

Well, I guess it helps if your congressman is a down to earth guy. We had the chance to hang out with our congressman Paul Broun the other day for a bit. It was an honor to meet him. Very neat guy. Jered already knew Dr. Broun but it was my first time meeting the man. It was a pleasure...

Suppressors One you don't see often...ghost threads

This was interesting and thought I'd share... Barrel is for a 10/22 Charger. Kind of a neat little solution for a clean look. The guy didn't want a thread protector hanging off his barrel. Suppressor is an AAC Aviator. AAC did a small run with a smaller metric thread specifically for...

What are your thoughts on SHOT Show?

I've attended SHOT several times. I've been on "both sides" of the booth. And have my own thoughts on SHOT Show from the perspective of both a vendor and an attendee but would love to hear what you folks think about SHOT. Specifically, dealers, do you think SHOT is worth attending? Do you...

    Unhealthy work environment

Really, Bill, I think you just burned a hole in your pants. What the hell do you eat for dinner anyway?? I'm tryin' to hang in there but its rough today.

Unacceptable accuracy (or why Jered bugs me)

Working at APA is great...most of the time. Sometimes though Jered makes me want to bang my head against the wall. I was doing a little organizing around the shop and found this poor LR-308 in pieces in a box with a range certification card on top. I asked Jered WHY the rifle was taken apart...

Hunting & Fishing Bill's new .260 hunting blaster

This is a cool little rifle for Bill Walker (APA's office manager). I've been toting my heavy (well, heavier than I'd like it for hunting Bambi in the GA forests) .308 blaster for a few years and when Dave finished up this build for his Pops it got me thinking about getting back into...

Suppressors One you don't see too often - suppressed Model 60

You don't see this setup very often. Marlin Model 60 with an AAC Prodigy. The AAC suppressor uses an interrupted thread for fast-attach capability. In this case the barrel needed to be threaded .5x28 and the fast-attach adapter installed. The adapter allows the suppressor to be installed...

APA Little Bastard Brake in action

We were goofing off at the range the other day getting chrono numbers on some .284 loads and Jered let some of our buddies shoot his .284 with the Little Bastard. Really tames the recoil a lot. Click on the video to play. Oh, and for the record...the rock was toast. LOL. ;-)

Advanced Marksmanship Shooting 700-yards kneeling, unsupported (video)

The other day Jered needed to test some loads in his 284 so we hit the range. After playing with the chronograph it was time for some goofing off. So, Jered jumped up on the bench for a couple shoots at the 700-yard plates. That first round he missed wasn't off by much. The second shot...
