None taken! I guess I got lucky since mine are quite usable for what they are. Since the OP listed the SE as currently owing, I was just trying to keep the price in the lower range. Appreciate your comments!
Does not meet your description but the original Gen 1 Vortex 1-4x24 SFP actually works well for me when I rather dial. Check out EuroOptics they still have them in stock new in the box for under $300. A little low on power but good to 500yds with a bit of effort...
They work pretty well.... the install can be time consuming as the tightning of the screw will move the level to an other than "level" position. They all do that (ring design) so it's really an non-issue.
I too have stopped using a thread locker. The rifles recently set up for suppressors are not high volume of fire but they do heat up. Torqued at 21 ft. lbs. with clean threads and they have not come loose. On those that see FA, I use RockSett but I might reconsider those too after a little...
Regarding your handloads.... if not full length resized, they will get stuck in the chamber as described. You are on the right track trying factory ammo. If that does not work start troubleshooting the rest of the carbine as mentioned. I don't recommend lubing the inside of a mag. Lube on a...
If you find that the Gen 2 does not track after you have zero'd and set the stop, there is a procedure to "re-index" or "re-time" the stop. Another simple procedure and I believe there is a video on YouTube. If you need help with this come back and post and I'll find the instructions. Good...
Your best bet before hunting is to throw up some cardboard and see how each load performs/patterns. Other members in the thread are leading you that direction with good suggestions but there is only one way to know definitely. I usually set up every 10 yds and mark each impact. 50 yds. is a...
Very happy to report my quest for the external windage turret has been successful thanks to the generosity of another member.... RFutch was kind enough to send me his turret and my XTR 3i is now suiting my years of training with external knobs. I'm still working with the holds in the SCR2 and...
I'm having good results with a 20" but it is suppressed. If I wasn't suppressed, I'd go with the 22". Most any of these top tier barrels will perform but I have no experience with the brands mentioned in .224 Valkyrie.
When you do set the stop, avoid over tightning the screws and torque with a pattern so pressure is applied to the inner turret evenly to prevent slipping. The videos are pretty good explaining the process. Kind of a pain but easy once you have done it.
