Ruger Hawkeye Tactical .243 likes a clean bore

I have just over a hundred rounds in the Ruger M77 and so far my foulers have been spot on. One thing I've noticed with my Hawkeye, it likes a clean bore. I was narrowing down a node for 85gr sierra with varget. 3 loads tested; 36.9 gr, 37.2, & 37.4. Each load was tested with 4 shots, the...

    Neck Tension 308

Re: Neck Tension 308 After re-sizing, turn all the case necks to make them all the same thickness(concentric). After turning Re-size them again and they should be good to go. Although 6 firings from a Hornady case might be asking a lot.

    powder for rem 6mm

Re: powder for rem 6mm Varget is my choice. I shoot an 85gr Sierra Spitzer with 38.1 grains Varget. My clean, cold bore shot is very nearly the same hole every time. My Rifle is a M77. I like the 85gr bullet as my 6mm do everything round, Humming birds to Whitetails. 1 shot, 1 kill.
