Darn it. New project on hold. It appears new 22GT Alpha brass has become extinct.

    7 saum

I'll drop 62.5grs of Retumbo in a case and compare with the LRT same amount. Update 1/8/2022: 62.5grs of Retumbo looks to have about the same case fill as H1000.

    7 saum

Follow up on LRT powder in 7mm Saum: Measured out 62.5grs of LRT into a case. It's approx .550"* below the case mouth. Compared to H1000 at 62.5grs, it's approx .475"* below the case mouth. *depth is approximate using measured rod. Notes: LRT is a fine spherical shape powder, not the blocky...

    7 saum

Originally posted in the general reloading thread, but thought it would get more exposure here. I called Ramshot today and asked if LRT would work in 7mm Saum with 183gr SMK's. They said you could not get enough inside the case to make it work. Time to do some research...... Compared the...

    Ramshot LRT in a saum?

I'm surprised this Ramshot LRT powder and SAUM topic is not covered more. Anyway, I called Ramshot today and asked if LRT would work in 7mm Saum with 183gr SMK's. They said you could not get enough inside the case to make it work. Time to do some research...... Compared the following...

Short Action Customs Sizing & Seating Dies - Evaluation & Discussion

About the ER collets. If you're buying your own get a high quality collet, like the German or Swiss make. Avoid the Chinese stuff, concentricity issues (run out) is not good. We use a lot of collets at my work, quality tooling makes a big difference.

Short Action Customs Sizing & Seating Dies - Evaluation & Discussion

If I understand correctly, the case (case neck already large from firing) slides past the mandrel on the way to the bushing. The bushing sizes the neck down and then the mandrel does its thing as the case leaves the die. The detail is having the mandrel come into play immediately as the case...

I'm considering the Arken HALO 34mm scope rings. The price is great, how is the quality?

Is HBN worth the effort or is it snake oil?

Did the moly for years then moved to the HBN. To me it was a hassle coating bullets all the time. Dropped it all for convenience sake and health (wore a face mask when handling it).

High End Die Face Off: Forester vs. Redding vs. Whidden Dies

Exactly the same procedure I use. I don't have a FL die of any make. Even for my semi auto .223 rifle. Don't have to mess with case trimming for a long time with a collet die. No neck stretching dragging it in and out of the die. If a tighter neck is required or wanted, just a light crimp...

Remington 243 with factory bull barrel

My factory Rem 700 .243 varmint special rifle for coyotes. Bullet: 87gr Hornady V-max coated with Danzac (BC .400) Works well in factory twist barrel but still respectable ballistic co-efficient. Seated just off the lands. Powder: Reloder 15 Nice consistent velocity avg 3154fps. Follow...

Tired of losing LAPUA 6.5x47 brass at the match? CHECK THIS OUT!

It is nice not to be hog tied to one brass manufacturer. Just like Remington is the only maker of .17remington brass. Instead I use .204 ruger brass made by Winchester and push the shoulder back and neck down. .204ruger brass was half the price of 17rem brass at the time. Also guys are...
