IMO all scopes have compromise . It all depends on its design specific to its intended use. The way I see my G3 , It's a DMR optic that must do many things: - Balance between 1x speed and 10x PID. - Quick ranging capability in the reticle . - Daylight bright dot. - "light enough" to keep a 16"...
IMO - G3 - Not "unusable" @ 1x , but certainly not "fast" without illumination. That being said I feel more comfortable running the RMR alongside it. 35 degree offset from T-Rex Arms
Old school Trijicon Accupoint 1-4 (triangle) is still a beast of a scope for all things practical out to 300. After shooting many of the big $$ options I still feel its a solid piece providing you know its limitations.
Once I got over the "non standard" styling of the SICS and focused on how it actually performed in the field , I quickly understood Spuhrs design philosophy. IMO, this chassis is excellent. It ooozes functionality and quality.
Not making any other statement other than my own personal experiences. Since I supported Criterion enough to actually buy their CORE in 18 inch . So I don't have an ax to grind. I'm sure I'm not the only one who prefers 1/7
