Watch Out for Scammers!
We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!
Most of the disciplines that are shot at our club have grades. C, B,A, Masters, etc. That way, you don't just have the same 3 place getters at every match and the rest are just "gap fillers". It's a system that works and the fairest distribution of the prize table. I think the PRS and NRL would...
I've given up on shooting PRS type matches. I used to run them at our club but the attitude of some people has turned me off. I still shoot other disciplines at our club, plus my kids are getting into it with rimfires and I'd rather spend that time teaching them.
I actually like off hand stages. Probably because before PRS type matches came to my range I shot years of Silhouette matches. Me and my 12 pound gun make up some ground there against the belly floppers and thier 25 pounders. :)
I've worn out a couple of hand primers and my Lyman Tmag press tends to flip small primers and they get inserted upside down. I'm thinking of trying the bench mounted RCBS auto priming tool. What do you use?
What's a good hunting bullet around 120gn with a reasonable bc? Lately I've been taking my x47 hunting and the 123 Scenars are great on steel but terrible on game. I'd prefer to stick with one bullet to do both.
I have no experience with any of the mentioned cartridges, so take my opinion how you like. But my decision would be made on whichever feeds the most reliably. The other points are all just splitting hairs. I had a 20 br once that was super accurate but sold it because it just wouldn't feed.
Green Armour by Osmar White is not a bad read. He was a war correspondent in Papua New guinea during WW2 and the book is a recollection of his experiences. More so concerned with Australian troops.
I used to shoot a lot of Service Rifle comps years ago and the 2 most common rifles on our range were the SMLE and the Swedish Mauser M96. The SMLE with its 10 rd mag and slick action had a distinct advantage over the M96, but the 303 cartridge was no comparison to the venerable 6.5x55. Over...
Does the 22br feed reliably in your Tikka? Is it the factory center stack mag or an AI type? I've been thinking of screwing a 6br barrel on one but I'm a bit hesitant since I had issues with a 20br in a Rem 700

I've only just realised this thread was still alive, sorry for not replying untill now. Its a square range with a berm at 500m (definitely meters, not yards) and verified with my rangefinder. I'm using AB and Litz's bc. Velocity is determined by my CED chronograph. As far as I can tell I have...
The 7mm08 is a favourite of mine. I've done lots of hunting with one and even shot comps with it for years. I now have a 6.5x47 Lapua for comps, but still carry a 7mm08 hunting. In New Zealand I believe the 7mm08 is the best seller for alpine Tahr hunting. Having said that, the Creedmoor...
