Rimfire WTT: SK Rifle Match for SK Long Range Match

I have a few thousand rounds of SK Rifle Match that I’d like to trade for the same quality of SK Long Range Match. Looking to trade between 4-6 bricks of mine for yours. Might also be interested in SK Biathlon Sport. Could potentially be interested in trading for M80 ball but mostly looking...

Question for the FFLs - M9A3 availabilty

I'll start off with a confession - I messed up. I knew I wanted an M9A3 years ago and put it off. Could have easily bought one 2 years ago, didn't. Could have easily bought one last year, didn't. Now I'm searching around and of course they are out of stock like most things. Anyone have the...

Gunsmithing Quick question on skim bedding.

I've never tried glass bedding a rifle stock but I'm going to give it a try with my Bergara B14R. Has the HMR (polymer stock with aluminum mini chassis). Should I drill a few small, shallow holes into the polymer in the areas where I'll be applying epoxy or just rough it up with some sandpaper?

Rifle Scopes XTR II and SWFA 10x glass comparisons?

Hoping a few of y'all have owned both and can make a comparison. I currently have an SWFA fixed 10x (non-HD model) and I'm considering replacing it with an XTR II 3-15x50, mostly because I like the additional features of the XTR II. Obviously I gain things like 10 mil turrets, zero stop, side...

Member Link Up Southern Utah shooting ranges?

Howdy y'all! I'm taking a short trip to Zion NP next week, staying in Springdale. I'll be driving down from SLC on the morning of the 23rd (Tuesday) and I'll be there several hours before I can check into the hotel (but probably after all the parking in the park is taken up) so I'm thinking up...

Rifle Scopes How to zero a scope at a distance other than the distance you are shooting from

Hopefully that thread title wasn't too confusing. My preferred method of zeroing a scope is to boresight at 25 yds, shoot 1 round at 100 yards, place the reticle at the point of aim and then using the turrets, move the reticle to the point of impact for a 100 yard zero. Now, lets say you have...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Possible to identify a pre 2005 Sig P226?

I've never been a Sig guy but I find myself wanting to add a P226 to the safe. I'm not interested in debating the merits of the new vs old sigs. I want to find a pre Cohen P226 with a rail. Is this a unicorn? Is there a way to identify the DOM by looking at the serial #? Any specific...

Rifle Scopes Bushnell ERS parallax range

I've searched to see if this was covered elsewhere but couldn't find it. There was a recent thread where a user mentioned that the XRS model is only able to focus down to 75 yards. Is this the case with the ERS model as well?

Newbie reloader question - Lapua .308 case capacity

I'm loading my first batch of .308, decided to try some 155 amax over IMR 4064 in Lapua brass with Remington 9 1/2 primers. COAL is 2.805. My plan was to load a batch with charges weighing 41-45.5 grains, but I got to 43.8 grains and it looks like this will be a compressed load - the powder...

First day with my new FN SPR

I picked up my SPR A1 yesterday that I ordered from Mike @ Tac Cord. This is my first centerfire precision rifle; I've got a savage MK II TR that I bought to get started in bolt gun shooting about a year ago. Great day at the range today - it was 67 F when I got to the range at 8:00 am...

    What else do I need?

I've got my first precision bolt gun on order and it will be here in a couple weeks and I need to get set up to reload rifle cartridges (.308 mostly). I've got a Lee classic turret press, which is what I'll have to use until I get my hands on a Co-Ax. I've also got a priming tool, case cleaning...

Rifle Scopes SWFA or Bushnell ERS (not which is better)

Obviously the Bushnell is the far superior scope of these two but I'm still considering one or the other right now - honestly this is probably more about financial advice than scope advice. I'm ordering my first centerfire precision rifle this week (FN SPR in .308), looks like the wait time is...

Any father's day gun safe deals?

Anybody know of any good sales out there on safes for father's day? Looking to get an rsc and figured I'd see if there are any deals to be had this weekend. So you'll have an idea of what I'm looking for, here is the one I've been eyeing: Winchester® Gun Safe, 24 Gun Capacity - Tractor Supply...

4th day at the range and what I learned

It's been too long since I got the the range last, I had to skip last week. I had looked around for some official smallbore targets but could not find any locally, looks like I'll have to order some. I'm continuing to learn how important consistency is - one thing I experimented with last time...

3rd day at the range - 18% group shrinkage!

My thanks again to Sterling Shooter who has offered advice in my previous threads which detailed my first two trips to the range shooting for group size. After his advice from last time I was able to shrink my groups by 18%. 7/18/12 group avg: 1.025" Today's group avg: .852" If I only figure...

    2nd day at the range

Last week I posted my results from my first day at the range with a scoped rifle, which can be seen here. Thanks to Sterling Shooter, I at least attempted to call my shots this time; I thought it would be an easy thing to do but now I think it is the most difficult of the basics I'm trying...

    First day at the range

So today was my first foray into precision shooting, unfortunately there wasn't much precision this time. I got into shooting pistols a few years ago and have enjoyed it, and I've had an AR-15 for almost as long though I've probably only put 100rnds through it - it's something I'm more...

    Where to get beginning instruction

Hi guys, new to the forum here and looking to get into precision rifle shooting. I've done a lot of reading here and have learned much - mainly I've learned how much I don't know about shooting and what I need to learn. I've done a little shooting, 99% pistols though and I want to start...
