    Rem 700 AAC-SD blues

    Have mine in a Bell & Carlson M40. Wouldn't shoot under 2" at 100. Tried everything. Did notice the recoil lug only made contact on the bottom edge. After 1,000 + rounds I got tired of fighting it. I put a Bartlein Sendaro 1-11 1/4 barrel on. It now shoots 1/4 moa at 100. I wanted to post pics...

    Anyone ever have this happen with a remington 700?

    I just mounted a rail and scope on my new 700 SPS Tactical AAC-SD. I found that when I screwed the rail down the front was level but the rear was low and canted to the right. I bedded the rear with JB Weld and it's now square.

    Sit small level on the rail, clamp other level on barrel. Match bubble in level clamped to barrel with bubble on rail. Mount rings and scope, place small level on scope cap match bubble on scope to bubble clamped to barrel. Torque scope in rings. LEVEL!

    Re: Choose a Scope For those interested. I let the wife look through the NF. She's used to the Osprey on her .223. I almost had to pry the rifle away from her. She was looking for squirrels in a tree 135 yards out. I wonder if she could have made a head shot.
