I have one in 6.5 and it shot very well with 41.4 of H4350, up until about rd 20-25. It did not have the short throat others have seen. I put on a shilen and with 43 of H4350 it will shoot all day. Do the OCW and if you cant find something you like, screw another barrel on it and have fun. I...
I just replaced the barrel on the LRP with a Shilen from Northland. Although I could load to 2.825 with the factory barrel and it shot pretty well, I wanted to try a barrel swap myself. Could not be happier with the results. I started load development for it yesterday and it is hard to decide...
I chrono'd one lot of 313xxxx at 2930 avg. I loaded up my own and found a nice spot at 41.4 gr of H4350, 140 gr amax, mv of 2800. This out of my 12 LRP in 6.5. It shot under 2 in groups at 500. I still have some tweaking to do as I think it can do better, but still happy as this was the...
I have about 10 shells left in the last box so I broke one of these apart. I will break the rest up for bullets and brass. Or maybe just load 41.5 of H4350 and see how they do.
All of the 4 boxes I bought are in the 313xxxx lot numbers also. I found it interesting that during an OCW test with the 140gr Amax bullets and H4350 yesterday, I started to get cratered primers at a certain charge and that is about the same time the OCW told me I had found a crappy node, or...
I chrono'd the Hornady 140 grain that had 43.8 gr of "X" in them today. Averaged 2930fps out of a new Savage 12 LRP creedmoor. Not good groups. I found a decent node around 41 to 41.6 gr of H4350 at about 2775 average. Still not sure what powder is in the store bought.
I just shot mine for the first time Saturday with the hornady 140 gr. Not great accuracy and there is a thread here and other places about the ammo not being as good as it used to be...
I shot the Hornady 140gr Amax yesterday out of a brand new gun. It was not bad, shot 3 groups at .6 moa at 100 yards. Every single primer was cratered and also had a couple with marks on the headstamp. I got home and broke one apart and measured it and it had 43.8 gr of something in it. It...
