    Chassis Purchase Advice

I like the MDT Tac 21. I doesn't seem to be as popular as some of the others, but it's a good solid chassis.

Rifle Scopes Weaver 34mm 6-30x56 Tactical Scope

I really think the Weaver 3-15x50 is one of the best scopes out there in it's price range (I have four of the Blackhawk branded ones), and if this one has the same quality it will be extremely interesting. I do agree that, price wise, it's a pretty big jump from the 30mm models and seems a...

best overall bolt action rifle for around $800?

I'm a huge Savage fan. I love being able to work on them, but I've been seriously eyeing a Tikka lately. Always been a Winchester 70 fan too. It's a great rifle to build on. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

    338 rum, IMR 7828ssc, and 300gr SMKs

Was just checking that out. Maybe I just need to go with the 250 SMKs. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

    338 rum, IMR 7828ssc, and 300gr SMKs

Anyone out there using 7828ssc to push 300gr SMKs in a 338 ultra mag? I have a couple of pounds of the 7828ssc (and can't find any Retumbo or H1000), so I thought I'd try it out, but I can't find any data on this combo anywhere. Maybe this is just a bad idea? I'm new to reloading, so I...

Rifle Scopes one piece 30mm scope mount manufacturers?

Another low cost option would be the Warne RAMP, or the Warne SKEL. I have both, and they are a nice, solid piece of equipment for the price. My only dislike is that the hex nuts are on the right, where I'd like to see them on the left, opposite of the ejection port.

    .223 remington 700 SPS tactical

I can't comment on the price, because I don't know what things go for in South Africa, but my first Remington was an SPS Varmint in 308, and it was excellent for what I paid ($425). I did replace the factory stock with a Choate, as the factory one is a bit flimsy. Ended up selling it, and...

    Choate stock

I've had that stock on both a Savage and a Remington in .308. As everyone has said, it is heavy! I really like them for the price, and prefer them over the B&C (I will admit that I've been behind the Choate a lot more than I've been behind the B&C, so I'm biased). The grip is very big, so keep...

    AR 22 conversion?

I have the CMMG conversion. It's fun, reliable for the little I've used it (I've only shot a few hundred rounds with it), and worth the money. The accuracy is not quite as good ass with 223, but it's not bad. If I was to do it again I would probably go with a dedicated 22 thought because I would...

    Noob from Illinois

Signed up and have been lurking for over a year, so I figured it was finally time to say hi, and get involved. Fairly new to rifles, as I've been mostly a pistol guy, but I'm really starting to prefer them more and more. Just started reaching out past 100, to 200 and 300 (and hopefully...
