    Bummer. My PMII is 56mm. What's strange is that even though my SN3 (3.2-17x) has a smaller objective lens than my S&B, I swear the tubes are about the same size.

    OP, are you not concerned with the plastic lenses on the bikini covers compromising the clarity of your glass? I have a set of clear bikini covers for my PMII, (I use tenebreaux covers now) and I hadn't really considered leaving them in place while I shoot, for fear of the clear plastic...

    Same here. NEAR (S&B PM II) on my TBA M40A3, and a Spuhr (USO SN-3) on my OBR 7.62. Honestly, there's a lot of great options out there.

    I got one in a package deal with a Leatherwood CMR (from SWFA). The mount itself, seems like it a decent piece of kit. It's definitely more durable than the scope it came with, which took a shit after a couple hundred rounds of .308.

    I own an S&B 5-25 w/MSR reticle, and love it. With that said, I've heard only great things about Khales, and doubt you could go wrong with either.

    I use them mainly to protect my lenses. I tend to shoot in brightly lit conditions, so they don't get in the way.

    For what it's worth, my brother is right hand/left eye dominant, and he shoots (long guns) left handed. Good luck with which ever way you decide to go.

    I think that it was pretty weak of your FIL to deny your gift (no offense to him). I'm not a huge fan of .243 myself, but I'd be jumping up and down, had you offered me a gift like that.
