    cold weather shooting

Re: cold weather shooting That's pretty much what I was looking.for. I had an idea that being colder the powder would burn slower giving less muzzle velocity. But I'm still pretty green and tend to over think stuff so I figured I'd ask. Thanks for the responses! Now if anyone has tips on how...

    cold weather shooting

Sitting here at work I was thinking about how I've read that temperature effects your shot. But in what way? I've tried searching for it already. Say I was zeroed in at 70 degrees today its 5 degrees what kind of changes would be present? Shooting a Remington.700 sps tactical with 168 gr...

    what'd i do wrong???

Re: what'd i do wrong??? Thanks. I'm going back out this weekend to give that a shot. Also going to take a poster board with a grid drawn on It. If I miss that then I'm in deep shit. What other info should I have provided? I'm new to this.

Re: what'd i do wrong??? Everything was tight and has loctite on it. Plus I was using Federal gold medal match 168gr bthp ammo. I forgot that part.

    what'd i do wrong???

Ok. First day at the range. It was busy so I started at the 50yd stand. I zeroed about 3 inches high and got a good 5 shot group. Anything farther I wasn't even hitting the stand. I pulled the bolt and bore sighted at 100 once it opened. Still nothing. I'm confused angry and outta ammo til next...

    Ar-15 problems ......

Re: Ar-15 problems ...... The set screws were loose. I'm going to tighten them down and put loctite on them and run it this weekend. If the problem continues I'm going to get a new gas tube and block.

    Ar-15 problems ......

Re: Ar-15 problems ...... Just got an email from the company I bought it from. They offered to fix it if I was going to pay to ship it back. Fuck that. Looks like I'll just be learning more about the gas system and not be going to surplusammo.com for any more parts. Thank you guys for the help!

    Ar-15 problems ......

Re: Ar-15 problems ...... It does wiggle at the front of the gas block and the gas block does have a slight amount of play in it. It has two set screws at 6 o'clock and a roll pin securing the tube. If I could figure out how to upload pictures from my phone it'd probably be easier to explain...

    Ar-15 problems ......

Re: Ar-15 problems ...... The upper was assembled by surplus arms and ammo. It's a Daniel Defense barrel with aero precision receiver and a Rock River bcg. I have contacted them about it but I wasn't expecting to hear from them until tomorrow some time. I was hoping it'd be something easy I...

    Ar-15 problems ......

This weekend I took my AR out for the first time. After firing about 15 rounds it started to jam up and wouldn't eject. I noticed a little carbon on the gas block and took off the handguards. The gas tube wiggled in the block. The upper was already assembled when I bought it and I'm wondering...
