I bought a Tikka T3x TAC A1 in 6.5 Creedmoor last week. I've been eyeing them for a while, and one of them showed up at my local Sportsmans Warehouse and I jumped on it. Impressions so far - Gun is heavier than my other Tikkas in X-Ray/Whiskey 3 but...
So round count is 260. Start time is Saturday Dec 9 at 7 am. If you want to check zero you'll have to make it to the range the day before. Should end by 4 pm on Sunday Dec 10. Matt Clem has been very responsive on facebook. Looking forward to shooting in Oklahoma.
I just got qualified for the PRS finale in Production division. Does anyone know anything about the match? Round count, # of stages, start time, and end time are what I am most interested in learning about right now.
I've shot the Ares BTR 4.5-27x50 in Mil in 2 PRS matches now - Lone Survivor and Snipers Hide. Its mounted on my Tikka T3x Tac A1, and I'm shooting Production Division. I had a lot of problems with my ammo, but the gun and scope combination has shot great. At Sniper's Hide I had a first round...
So I tried the 48.0 grains RL 26 at 3 seating depths. I don't have a sense of where the lands are on my factory chamber, so guessing in the dark a little bit Reload nosler rdf 140 48.0 Reloder 26 once fired Prime brass 2.933 COAL 2.825 COAL 2.853 COAL 2830...
This was my thinking as well. I run Tikkas and KRG chassis on all my guns (except the TAC A1), so for me spigot mounts, bipods, slings, etc are interchangeable. And given that the AT is too heavy for PRS shooting for me, I've decided to stick with Tikka. Still lust after it though.
I have the Tikka, and posted about it here - https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/forum/sniper%C2%92s-hide%C2%AE-armory-supply/sniper-s-hide-bolt-action-rifles/6448410-tikka-t3x-tac-a1-first-impressions. It shoots factory Prime into about 0.5" - 0.6" groups, and usually with an SD of less than...
I got gifted ones of these at my first match - http://sunrisetacticalgear.com/Arm-Board-Tactical-wrist-coach-0930412.htm. I've always loved it, but keep losing them at matches. I've tried other cheaper ones, but can never find anything nearly as good.
So this is my first foray into reloading. I've been shooting Prime 130 ammo form my 6.5 Creedmoor rifles, so I have lots of once fired brass. Decided to start by loading it with some Reloder 26 using the Scott Satterlee & 6.5 guys method -...
My first rifle was .308 Savage 10FCP bolt action. Loved it, but eventually sold it after I got my first Tikka. The Tikka action is miles better than the Savage. And all my Tikka factory barreled actions have been great shooters. Rebarreling a Tikka is more complicated than the Savage but really...
I have one in 6.5 creedmoor, and love it. Shot it at a PRS match in June, and I will use it to shoot a couple of production class matches later this year. My impressions here -...
I don't have the 24.5" CTR, but removing the TAC A1 from its chassis, it looks just like my other Tikka barreled actions. The barreled action will fit in any stock in-letted for a Tikka T3x action. I suspect that you are right and the barreled action is identical to the T3x CTR 24.5".
I've used the Mountain Tactical rails and they've always worked great for me. The recoil lug is nice to have, although I am not sure its strictly needed on my 6 and 6.5 match rifles. Also, Jard makes a trigger for the Tikka, which I believe is 2-stage http://www.jardinc.com/new-page-40/. The new...
So I sent my Cronus in to Athlon for service in late June. It shot fine and the glass and reticle are great, but the parallax knob was very stiff. I thought it would take them a few weeks to return it, so I sent it to them just before I went to Europe for a couple of months. To my surprise, they...
Can you put ammo in the same case as the firearm? Or does it need to be in a separate box by itself? I get the ship it to destination advice, but my itinerary will be complicated, so that probably won't work for me.
