Tired of Companies who do not know the law

I'm with you Russ, Midway wouldn't sell ammo and mags a few months ago. I may not do business with them again. I did just buy a 5 round poly mag at Newington Gun Exchange for $26.99 last week, if that helps.

452 Lux. left hand, $409. Not the cheapest shop in town, but good folks. I am thinking about another CZ they have, myself.

    brick ammo prices

I have first crack at Federal hp bricks arriving Monday, $40. I made peace with paying a little more than I like for now. Dealer is a friend, I can buy as many as I want/need, so I won't balk at the price.

    brick ammo prices

I bought actual bricks of CCI SV recently for about $40 US, last time I bought Federal (as in actually saw some) I paid around $25 I think, around March 2013.

    Olympics Biathlon

In case you missed it, like I did, I found it on youtube in sections. (I assume it's the same one). Haven't watched it yet so I can't vouch for the quality. The Real Heroes of Telemark: Ray Mears part 1 - YouTube

    Olympics Biathlon

I have not been, and probably won't in the near future, but there is a Biathlon center in Jackson, NH- near Mt. Washington, if you are not familiar with the North Conway area. Jackson Biathlon I apologize if the link isn't appropriate.

    any fun .22 games?

+ 1 Plastic army men, Necco wafer candies, cheap lollipops, golf balls, wine bottle corks. I scored a bunch of poker chips from a junk truck we cut up with a Hurst tool, I have a length of 2 x 4 I am going to cut a shallow groove in to stand them up but haven't yet.

    Remington 511

I have a mint '47 511 that I am more than happy with. Was my grandfather's, I nailed a lot of squirrels with it when I was younger. Does OK on paper but I haven't got a 100 yard range to wring it out on at the moment. I'd say shoot it and see how you like it. When I get home tomorrow night I'll...

    Which .22 Semi Handgun?

Thanks! Passed the info on to her. I think a LGS might have a rental Buckmark and others, but we'll keep looking. Revolver might be how we go as well.

    Which .22 Semi Handgun?

How bad is the slide to rack? My wife fell in love with the Buckmark Lite on one of those TV shows, but she couldn't rack the slide on my dad's Browning BDA when we could have had it for a song. She has carpal tunnel and elbow tendinitis, fixed on her left, surgery pending on her right. I was...

    Precision Rimfire Matches

I'm interested in something in the same area- I am just south of Hartford, Danbury is feasible now and then, but more than an hour and a half drive ends up usually not working out. I'd have to plan a weekend with th ewhole family to pull off PA for the next year or two. There is a 300 yard range...

    Marlin XT-22 as a cheap 22 trainer?

I was going to suggest looking for an older Marlin bolt action tube feeder, like an 81. (because you mentioned budget and grad student). I have an 80 (mag fed), looked sad when I got it for $25, but shoots fantastic and has a vintage 4x store branded Weaver scope. Cleaned her up and refinished...

What the Mossad can do with a 22LR

Re: What the Mossad can do with a 22LR I don't say much, as I am still learning. But I have a lot of years in EMS, and I have seen about as many people killed by a .22 as any other single handgun caliber. I had a self-inflicted GSW once, guy smoked it, it spun around inside his head and the...

Good 22 bolt rifle for around 400 bucks?

Re: Good 22 bolt rifle for around 400 bucks? My son has the 452 Ultra Lux, 28" barrel and fantastic sights. Crazy good rifle. We paid around $400, only downside was it was backordered a while.

    Fun .22 target idea's?

Re: Fun .22 target idea's? I have leftover hard candy my son scored on Halloween, including the lollipops. Also, I save corks from wine bottles, have a box of a few hundred. My favorites are the synthetic ones. Work great with an air rifle, I am going tomorrow to try some .22's on them if the...
