Re: Neck Up or Neck Down ? Because i have a lot of other brass setting around not being used and 260 head-stamped brass is high as giraffe @%&# know what I mean.
Re: nosler and Lapua I have not had good luck with Nosler brass in a 260.I had 100 pcs and on the 3rd loading 4pcs had loose primer pockets and 50 pcs had doughnuts in the neck.Nosler brass is just to soft.I've gotten good performance from RP brass, haven't tried Lapua yet.
Re: 260 Loads Only 140 SMK's moly Viht. N150- 37.9 grns Rem. brass CCI 200 C.O.A.L. 2.795" velocity 2720ish out of a Savage 12 LRP We shoot paint balls at 200 yds and my 15 yr old son has been smoking everyone with this load
Re: Bad brass Tried your trick without the expander,It worked.I may have salvaged the brass well enough to load hunting rounds but I don't trust it for match ammo. Thanks again to everyone.
Re: Bad brass Called Nosler, and they brushed me off by saying "it sounds like your load is warm". 37.9 grns of N150 is not a hot load. Think I'll try Lapua brass, a lot of folks using it.
Re: Bad brass A doughnut ring is where the brass flows forward upon firing and builds up at the shoulder-neck junction forming a ring inside the case neck that effects the neck tension on the bullet and destroys accuracy.
Re: Bad brass I've got 200 pcs of rem. brass that I load with same equipment, same load and no issues with it. Savage 12 LRP, Redding dies, sie.140's, Viht. n150,CCI 200
