    338 LM Hornady Gauge Dimensions

    OK. I have the .420 insert, but the Hornady chart didn't show the that, so I wasn't sure. .33 made sense, but my 284 was like close to 278ish, so I didn't know if there was some special magic number. Thanks for the help.

    Question on Barrel Burning Catridges

    So I'm wondering what makes a barrel burner cartridge? For an example the 6.5 wsm everyone says is a Barrel burner, gets maybe 500rounds, before you lose accuracy...most of the time these guys are pushin fast bullets around 3300-3400..... So would you gain barrel life by slowing down the bullet...

    If your using a VLD style bullet, then try this. Redding Competition Standard Length VLD Seater Stems | Sinclair Intl I had the same problem because the standard stem wasn't long enough for the Bergers.

    Gunsmithing Should the recoil lug be to the front or back of the removed recoil lug area?

    This came up in a conversation because i have always been told that a scope should always be pushed forward against the rail, i was thinking the Lug would be the same.

    The stock I have has a larger recoil lug opening than my Badger recoil lug is....so there is little wiggle room in Front/Back, Both sides, and the bottom...should the recoil be pushed to the front of the lug area or tight to the face of the Alum bedding Block? or does it matter...i was reading...

    What did you use to paint your rifle?

    Rattle can has held up for me on several rifles(4)......make sure its clean before you paint...of course.....another good tip is heat the (paint) can up to about 90 degrees for 5 minutes or so(boiled water works the best)...apply multiply thins coats for best results.

    Anybody have starting load data for 7Rm,168LRX and H4831sc looking to find a all copper load. I'm using 65.5grns of H4831sc with the Berger hunting VLDs.... would it be safe to start around 62 and work up? not sure if there is a difference with the two different bullets? Thanks for any input.
