Remaction, I am aligned with Hobo and I think he raises one of the most important points in financial freedom and that is calculating the cost of risk. With all due respect perhaps I can use the example you provided..... If you get a car loan that is at 2.5% and you are getting 10% average...
If you have the financial freedom to retire at any particular age, and would prefer to be doing things other than "work", then go ahead and do it. You arent going to be a burden on others or society so be proud of the fact you have achieved that milestone. Having said that, the data I have...
Thanks to all for the prayers and well wishes! Michael came home from Reno just before Jan 1. Wohoo!!! While he was never physically strong like many of us, he has been working hard to do what his mom and dad ask of him. He does not understand why he cant just sit but he has trust in them and...
I was not even aware they could be insured..... However, between the 3 trucks and the suv I dont think I could afford 3 more EL's. And, for my eyes, I just dont think I could justify the cost for something that is not that different for me. The reason for my comments was that, after...
Took two sets of the Meopta's on an elk hunt in CO with a couple of the grandkids a few weeks ago and both sets were excellent. For my eyes they were very close to the Swaro EL's in clarity and, for the money, they were pretty impressive. I do think the Swaro's are easier to get a better focus...
Michael, had a good day yesterday. I sat up a good portion of the day and the PT had him get out of bed for about 15 min. Fever is down a little bit so that is good and I understand he had just a little more energy. Not back to where he was before but not on a downhill slide. thanks for keeping...
Michael is in a Reno hospital and has been for almost a month now. Docs are thinking that he might be in for another month before he gets out, if he does at all. Normally a cold is not too big a deal for a lot of us but for 39 years Michael has been dealing with seizures to the extent that he...
Ok and thanks. I tried that just a little while ago and its better. I am sure there is a lot more for me to learn and this sure knocks down some of the barriers.
I can go out, give it another try and see how long it takes to run that bead. As a guess maybe 10 minutes? Or maybe a smidge longer for the 24" Though I have tried it in sections I have not hopped around so I will try that. Its not critical that I get it figured out but now its the sort of...
Butt. I tried stacking a bunch of steel on the two parts but..... For the small parts I weld none of the welds are more than 1" long for any one weld so my experience with anything else is zero.
While I can understand the frustration with gov't mandated, politically motivated jabs not everyone who got the shot wished you ill. Some may not have felt they had much of a choice. If your going to go into "hate mode" I might suggest directing at those responsible people in the govt...
Tig welding question. First off I want to thank all the folks that have helped me with my previous "welding" questions. I am not a real welder. I just TIG some parts together. The same parts time after time so I dont have to change any settings or anything. However, the neighbor asked me to but...
Just some thoughts based on some of my experiences: 1. If you are going to load the bed with 1,000 lbs I would opt for a 3/4 ton and maybe air bags. 2. I would consider a gas 3/4 ton. 3. although the gas rigs are lighter I have never had a problem with the extra weight of the diesels. Most of my...
I did not look at the Mavens although I have heard good things. I wanted to at least look through them and could not find anyone that stocked them. That being the case I passed on them.
I agree Doug. I would also add that, in addition to the viewing aspect of the binos', the smoothness in operation and fit and finish is a very positive surprise. Not sure I am desperate for any new optics at the moment but if I get to that point Meopta will sure be in the mix.
I was looking at Vortex, Kowa, Zeiss, Leica, etc, etc. to use for back ups binos and for the grandkids to use on their hunts. After spending time with all of them the Meopta MeoPro HD's (10x42) were the ones I went with and now that I have had some real time with them I am really impressed...
And that was the part that was the challenge. In the end I asked their dad and he said get the 10’s. My take was the 8’s would be easier and they are teenagers. Maybe I will get one of each…..
