    260 Rem

I am assuming these are 100 yard groups? If so I would try your tests at 300 yards or farther. Best load I found for my 260 will only shoot about .75 inches at 100 yards on any given day but it will hold that .75 inches out to 300 yards pretty consistently. The biggest it gets at 300 is about...

    Length to Ogive

I guess that leaves me with another question then. I thought the comparator took a measurement were the bullet contacted the lands. What exactly are you measuring with the comparator then? Is it just to a more consistent spot on the bullet as meplats are far from uniform?

    Savage LRP 260

This load is all over the internet a works well. Use either hogdon or imr 4350 somewhere between 42.0 to 43.5 grains and jump the amax .030 to .060. I promise you will find something in there. If not then your gun is just weird.

    Length to Ogive

Ok, thanks. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something I was overlooking.

    Length to Ogive

This is just something I was thinking about since I want to try some different bullets in my gun. And I would just test it out if it was possible to find a 260 rem modified case. I'm hoping someone has tried it already and can tell me if its a bad idea. The rifleings in barrel are a constant...

To those with camo stocks and cerekoted metal

I was told painting your scope will make your rifle at least half moa all day out of the box.

260 Rem - Lapua versus Remington Brass

At this point I would say it is more expensive simply because it is available.

    Why No 30 06

ogonzalez 13 I am running 180 grains sierra game kings in mine and ran into pressure signs at 56.5 grains of 4350. Your top end seems reasonable I would probably push it to 56 grains if I was shooting 190's. But that's just my opinion on my gun your test seems reasonable and safe.

    Lapua's consistency downhill?

I haven't the problems with inconsistency but I have found that my new 260 brass began to burn a small pin hole in the necks at 3 firings? It's only a few of them but still annoying with the prices and the difficulty in finding components these days. It doesn't look like a split but I'm still...

savage 243 lrp or custom build

Lighter bullets will shoot fine out of faster twist barrels.

savage 243 lrp or custom build

I cant say if the twist will be fine or not or how well the 105s or 107s will shoot as I have no experience with this caliber. But if the barrel is not what you want you can get a new one and still only be in the rifle for $1500 at most. Also I too am wondering what exactly in fragile about...

savage 243 lrp or custom build

The savage lrp will shoot better than the vast majority of peoples abilities all for about $1000 I think mine was like $990. I like the triggers and I think they are fine as long as you don't try and run it at its very lightest and the actions are awesome. For a varmint rig I don't think you...

Expected accuracy of match vs. hunting ammo

It's almost impossible to say. You just got to shoot them and see. And hopefully it likes the cheap stuff.

    Which powder?

Any 4350 for a short barreled 30-06. Some where around 55 grains and you will good to go.

    Ruger gunsite+ rws gunsmithing= bad a$$ shorty

Why would you want that? Didn't Gunsmoke already make a $10,00.00 game changer with a trigger job out of one of these? Joking aside nice rifle.

Remington 9 1/2 Large Rifle Primer Misfires

I fully understand your point but I am leaning towards bad primers as I use these in a hunting rifle that I don't even bother uniforming primer pockets. Don't really see the point in wasting time in a gun that I don't shoot over 500 yards and holds about 3/4 moa.

Remington 9 1/2 Large Rifle Primer Misfires

Mattwashington were did you get your primers? I got 1000 from scheels in billings this summer and went through a spell with failure to fires. I think it was around 15 out of 200 rounds that didn't go. Can't explain it but I find it odd someone else in Montana is having the same issue with...

What powder for 260 to reduce temp variation?

I'm having good luck with 4831sc and getting 2873 fps with the 140 amax.

    Should I be worried?

Why clean copper with no accuracy degradation. And I realize many custom guns are capable of better than half moa but in a factory rig with a factory barrel half moa is a pretty lofty goal. I clean carbon fouling and copper waits till accuracy degrades.

    Should I be worried?

It doesn't appear to be damaged. It just seems odd that the fouling would stop like that.
