    little simple project in the shop this afternoon. Picked up a 12 ton bottle jack for the shop and instead of buying a saddle made one using materials I had laying around. Collar was made with 2" DOM .250 wall tubing bored on the lathe to fit the top of the jack snugly.

    Cousin in Ruidoso went the house this morning and reported a total loss. Water when as high as the kitchen countertop and structural structural damage. Hope to salvage some of the furniture I made for it and going to be a tear down with no plans to rebuild.

    Had a fraternity brother have this happen to him while hang gliding in the mid-70's. Jumped of Sandia Peak in ABQ and and got sucked up into an anvil and either froze to death or suffocated. Found his body in Rio Rancho.
