    cfe 223 powder ?

Hogdons burn chart shows 748,blc2, cfe all on top of ea other. Just spent some time on their data on 3006 and there they show blc2 much slower than 748 and very close to cfe. I swear older hogdon data and my older quick load showed identical loads between 748 and blc. Now ql shows blc slower...

    cfe 223 powder ?

The comment that cfe223 is the same as blc2 w/an additive is shocking. A little crossreferencing at hodgdons data center shows them to be very different. As much as 3-4 grains different in 308 and 7-08 data. Hornadies latest manual finds the same thing...often loads of cfe223 are 3 grains...

Anyone use Hornady auto powder dispenser?

Re: Anyone use Hornady auto powder dispenser? There are very few complaints on the charge master. There are plenty on the hornady. The main complaint on the hornady is it overthrows charges. I have a hornady and it did it alot. But there are instructions for both the hornady and the rcbs...

Anyone use Nosler headstamp weatherby casings??

Shooters pro shop has a good deal on nosler 270 wby brass. was wondering if it might actually be made by Norma....or is it the usual nosler really thick and heavy case/cartridge. Don't want to try it unless its pretty close to wby spec.

Low recoil 110 gr. projectile in .308 - questions

Re: Low recoil 110 gr. projectile in .308 - questions Ive had excellent accuracy with the vmax in several rifles. My little 308 rem vtr has put out some +2" groups @ 350yds. Its also very sccurate with plinking loads using trailboss.

    Hornady's new Concentricity gauge....gimmick?

Re: Hornady's new Concentricity gauge....gimmick? I have the hornady and also a rcbs. I use both. The hornady I'm a bit "neutral" on. I use the rcbs to check how well my sized brass is coming out of the die. I fiddle with the expander spindle setting till I get it perfectly in the middle...

Need 7-08 and barnes 145lrx input please...

Buddy of mine gave me his gun and a box of 145 lrx and said "find me a load". Where would you guys start. Right now thinking 44.0 mr2000 and 46.0 re17 for starters. I have lots of powders on hand but no "hunter" and that does seem popular with the 7-08. Thanks for any input.

Anyone ever try mr2000 powder in the 30-30??

Re: Anyone ever try mr2000 powder in the 30-30?? Actually the 30-30 likes most all the powders that are great for the 308. 3031,748,re15,varget,4895's all seem to come up as really popular for the 30-30. The reason I started to think about mr2000 is that the listed loads for Hogdons...

Anyone ever try mr2000 powder in the 30-30??

Just picked up my first 30-30. Was tinkering with some different powder and got to wondering if this powder worked so well in the 308 why not the 30-30. Looks like a 30-30 case could hold about 37-39 grains of this stuff with a 150 bullet. No alliant data but I have emailed them to see if it has...

    208 Gr in 308win??

Re: 208 Gr in 308win?? I picked up some 208 amax's on a midway blem sale. I saw loads here working pretty good with re17. My little rem vtr with 20" barrel and 1:12 seems to think it's ok. I haven't tested em past 100 yds but bullet holes are almost touching and approx 48 grains has me...

Has anyone tried the 150 GMX for long range?

Re: Has anyone tried the 150 GMX for long range? I tried the 165's (gmx) in some guns that shoot other 165's well and didn't get good results. Some people have reported good luck with them but I was surprised that I didn't get a hint of a group. I like hornady stuff in general but for now...

    Hornady Sonic Cleaner

Re: Hornady Sonic Cleaner FWIW----I just got the harbor frt unit. You can find a 20% off coupon in most any magazine and get it for about $57. I tinkered with some solutions. I found that a solution of about 30% vinegar and 70% tap water did really good. I heated up the unit and did 3-4...

    Bullet runout spec question

Re: Bullet runout spec question I have both the hornady correcting tool and the rcbs v block checker. I did not like the hornady tool at first. I believe if you follow their directions it gives you false info. I found the further you measure on the bullet towards the ogive on the hornady...

Hornady lock and load concentricity gauge

Re: Hornady lock and load concentricity gauge I got one and didn't like it at first. The directions said take the measurement on the bullet and correct by pushing against the bullet. I found that measurements were way way diff than my rcbs v block. And sometimes correcting seemed to take...

Rem VTR + integrated muzzle brake=Accuracy problem

I've got one in a .308. My gun is super accurate with flat based bullets but I just can't seem to find good loads with boat tails. I think I've seen some posts that the factory brake which only exits the top of the barrel can cause some inconsistancy. Anyone have experience or input??

    hornady concentricty tool?

Re: hornady concentricty tool? I'm the guy that wrote the bad review at midway on the hornady tool and I pretty much stand by it after more playing around. My other tool is a rcbs v block. The hornady ALWAYS measuures way less runnout than the v block. I don't think I can reload any of my...

Lee 3 Jaw Chuck - Anyone with experience?

Re: Lee 3 Jaw Chuck - Anyone with experience? I use mine with a drill in the saddle of my gun cleaning kit. I LOVE IT. I use it for cleaning cases and trimming. It's as fast as my $200 rcbs trimpro and I think it does a better job. I haven't used the trimpro in about 2 years and it cut my...

300 win mag and IMR 4064 powder

Re: 300 win mag and IMR 4064 powder HEY NOT SO FAST....While I'll admit you won't get fastest vel with the bullets it can work and it can be fun to shoot. I have a 150 grain whitetail load for my 300 win mag using I4320 and it's fun. Sends them out at about 2800 fps and it quite regualarily...
