I have a brand new/unfired KAC Upper that build never came around to and now going a different route. CH was swapped out for a Raptor and FH upgraded to an AAC 51t mount , otherwise all new and unfired. $1600 shipped.
My $0.02- the 5r is a great gun and should do most all you want, however...... If the idea of a custom appeals to you and leaning that way, I foresee you wishing you would have spent the few more dollars to have it as you want it. Buy once, cry once.
Get the CDI metal. Factory HS stock inlet should match up for one decent stock option. Pick up a PTG bolt just because. Call Northland and see what he has in stock- criterion and shilen both good choices.

I'll just say there's letters and info going both ways. Now I know with 11 posts and demanding a sticky because you're the all knowing we should all just stop what we're doing and listen to you..... but I don't see that happening. Spend some time in NFA and you'll find the ATF constantly goes...

Ignore- Kimber and Taurus Budget- Rock Island (or other Armscor made brand), SA GI/Milspec Mid- SA Loaded, TRP, RO, Operator, etc. STI Spartan or go used on STI, Dan Wesson, SA, etc.
