    Giraud annealing machine observations

I've successfully hooked up a regulator and 20lb tank to my giraud and I'm having some issues. At first I thought it was a bad torch head so I bought a new goss gp9, the same as the original. When I put the new torch head on, I could get a rather large flame at around 30psi. However, after...

SOS Ammo, I'd like to get a rod or two for my 1050's. How do I get one?

    Giraud annealing machine observations

One of the pictures, is from my website. I took it myself. You used it to show the mounting location for a second torch. I did just get my p-meter set up and working. I think there was a problem with the motor though. The fastest it will cycle is 6.3 seconds. At setting 5 on the p-meter it...

    Giraud annealing machine observations

Thank you for the update and I'm glad it's working for you. I've got basic skills when it comes to wiring soldering etc, but very interested in making this modification to my giraud. What initially drew me to this post was I'd noticed some of my pictures in this thread. Glad y'all decided to...

Need some help with my first 308 reloads - sticky bolt/ flat primers, low velocity

The first place I'd check is your sizing die. I would check the length if the case from the datum line against your reloading manual. I believe it should be around 1.560, but check your manual to be sure. You may already know this but just because it slips in and out of your case gauge...

    Fat man running, what shoes?

Let personal preference dictate what you go with. I'm a big guy and I run in Saucony Kinvara 3's which are a 10oz shoe in size 15. I didn't start in this type of shoe though I sort of found my way to it along the way. I started in a pair of Brooks Beast which are quite a bit heavier but they...

Supplements for Strength - what are you using???

On the rare occasion I don't get enough protein from whole food sources, I use Trutein. Macro for macro it's my favorite protein supplement. If I'm training fasted, I'll put some BCAA's in my water bottle.

Best Way/Tool To Determine Seating Depth, COAL, OAL?

Sinclair makes a 'bullet seating depth tool'. I think it's about $30 + shipping. There are also DIY versions which would cost less. Look around online and you should find some videos. Aside from buying a tool, have you invested in reloading manuals?

    Steroids Anyone ??

I agree, consistency in nutrition, your workouts and sleep matter most. Over the past couple months I've suspected I might have a hormone imbalance, so I went to see the Doc. Keep in mind I'm active military so it's not as if I'm paying anyone for this nor am I dealing with a specialist...

Who has a good home-made case lube recipe they are willing to share.

I had been using Hornady One-Shot but at it's current price, I decided to mix up a batch of liquid lanolin / iso alcohol. I went with a 5:1 ratio, which was too rich in oil. I lubed 1000 cases and it hardly put a dent in a 20 oz spray bottle. I tested 4 or 5, and got lube dents. At first I...

    Other cleaning media???

The Thumblers SS 15 lb tumbler does a great job on brass but it's capacity and labor involved to get the brass dry and usable is the downside. It should come standard with a magnetic finger because it's inevitable that the small pins will end up all over the place, no matter how careful you...

Do you love your annealing machine? Why or why not.

I've looked at both, and the conclusion I come to is...do I want to sit there and hand feed the cases or do I want to load it up and do other things in the meantime. For me, it's a no brainer - Giraud.

    Pre/Post work out

Everyone responds differently to supplements, particularly the pre/intra workout ones. I've wasted alot of money in search for the perfect one and now I use 200-400 mg caffeine in pill form. I personally use an unflavored BCAA only when training in a fasted state. For the average gym-goer, if...

How much water should we drink?

The more water you drink, the more water your body will release. Misunderstanding water retention is the cause of people saying it makes you fat. Sodium/potassium intake, along with how much you sweat and water you consume all affect it. Somewhere along the way I read something that suggested...

    VitaMix?

I hate knowing there's a product out there that is far superior to all others. Never again will I have chunks the size of glaciers when I blend ice. Vitamix is the king of all blenders. It just works.

Fitness/ training while on the road

No matter what you decide to do, it should be something you enjoy doing. You don't need to kill yourself either, at least, not daily. 3 days per week paired with better nutrition will take you quite a ways. I too travel a couple of weeks per month and have had to ditch the restaurants almost...
