Well, he got his official papers and first week of July he's headed to Eastern Afghanistan. I'll be giving him the Leatherman MUT and sending whatever he asks for while he's there. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.

He doesn't really know what he'll need as he's never been deployed. He does not currently have a multi tool which is why I'm leaning towards the MTU. He does a lot of extra civilian shooting so I know that tool will always get used. I plan on sending him stuff through out his deployment, just...
