Had a Minox MD62 ED for a number of years. Impressed a lot of friends that owned very expensive glass at the time. During a shooting clinic I took we were asked to line up all our spotters in a line so that everyone could look through them. Of about 12 or more spotters the Minox was ranked third...
Sorry for the late reply, I wont post the price but it was close enough to a Terrapin that the small difference in price made it a no brainer. I had it out this past weekend and am very happy I upgraded. Noticeable difference in recovery time between readings and less missed readings in...
Recieved my PLRF-15 this week. Had a Terrapin briefly but the dealer I bought from recieved a shipment of 15's and 15C's that he was able to offer at an awesome price. I sent back the Terrapin and paid the difference on a new 15. Hand held I easily ranged buildings at 3900+ meters. Best of the...
If a person has the mental capacity and physical dexterity to loosen 2 set screws, rotate the turret and re-tighten, then they will be able to zero a Steiner Military series turret. Apparently some don't.
I will try to post some tomorrow afternoon. The gun has been hydro-dipped in Realtree camo so its a little bit difficult to distinctly see the lines and form of the gun. It all just blends together. In any rate I will snap a few pics and post them anyway.
When I spoke to Ross and Steve at SHOT I got the impression that they have not done a run of M15 (SA) or M18 (LA) actions for quite some time. You may wish to contact them and see if this is something they still continue to offer even if only in limited numbers. I have a PGW M18Ti in 6.5STW that...
I was having similar issues as the OP. I could not get my setup solid enough to utilize the higher magnification my scope offered. This thread served to help me with my decision and I could not be more pleased with my new tripod/head. I bought a 055PROXB and put a Manfrotto MVH500AH fluid head...
I posted this in another 6mm thread but here it is again: I rebarreled a TRG-22 with a 7.5 ROT Bartlein and chambered it in 6SLR. I am getting 105's comfortably above 3200fps and 115's around 3100. I should say that those velocities are from a 28.5" barrel and pressures are acceptable (to me)...
I understand what you are saying about the confusion between the 4X erector scopes and the new 5x series in that the instructions supplied with the new scopes (for setting the ZS) was the same as the other style of turret. I can appreciate that. The bottom line is that the procedure for gaining...
Its been a great performer (H100V), good velocity with low spread. My charge weight for H100V is 42.8gr under the 105 Scenars and 45gr RL22 under the 115 Bergers. The barrel is 28.5" and achieves the above velocities within acceptable (to me) pressures. Hopefully it lasts 2K rounds, I'd be...
I re-barreled a TRG-22 with a 7.5 ROT Bartlein. This chambering is a bit more finicky than I expected. I did not have great luck with 105 Hybrids which is too bad because its the bullet I really hoped would work. Ultimately settled on 105 Scenars over H100V at 3260fps and Berger 115's over RL22...
Politically correct.... no, but true never the less. Pretty sad if you cant look at two set screws in the turret and figure out what they're there for. There was someone that posted a while back that Steiner forgot to put the screws in his turret and he could'nt reset it as a result. Two posts...
Unbelievable that this has to be explained. You sir have the patience of a saint. I personally think you have to be half F'n retarded not to be able to figure out how to set the zerostop on a Steiner turret. BTW what diameter rings do I need for the 34mm tube? HaHa, maybe you should specify...
I have the 21-42 LER eye-piece and definitely recommend it. The eyebox is very forgiving which is nice for field use and hunting in less than perfect setups. With the Zeiss I literally have to jam my eye inyo the lens to get a full field of view.
