Geissele High Speed National Match gets my vote. The ultra-quick lock time makes a real difference, and the break is like glass. The Match variant would probably suit your needs most closely.

Absolutely get the Creedmoor for >500 Yard shooting! No comparison between it and the Grendel ballistically. Some guys have shot Creedmoor with a 50% probability of hit out to 1400 yards or so. For mile shooting (outside of the realm of novelty), you should consider 300WM or 338LM. Many...

That is also a Geissele MK1 rail, which utilizes an oversized barrel nut with only a few thousandths of clearance to the rail. Having mounted it on there, I'd say it's rock solid secure... far more than the average rail mounting solution. You pay the price in weight, but I can't complain for...

I'm not trying to say it's the world's best precision rifle, or that I'm the world's best marksman (most definitely not). I'm just really happy an AR-15 with a chrome lined barrel and a few mods can shoot around .5 MOA fairly consistently with factory ammo. Better than I could have ever hoped...

Reference the 6 group 100 yard Semi-Auto thread, bro. I believe my CHF DD is 2nd overall, against some pretty nice match-grade stainless rifles. That's with a S&B and some nice hardware, but at its heart it's still a DD. And if you're saying I'm lying about the distance or the ammo, well...

FWIW, my DDM4 V7 shoots an average of .676 MOA for 6 consecutive 5 shot groups, with the worst being about .8! And that's with me on the trigger. It is superbly accurate for an AR shooting factory ammo. If the DD MK12 is supposed to be even better, expect a 1/2 MOA rifle! I can't say enough...

Check out the Daniel Defense ISR-300BLK integrally suppressed SBR. Looks about perfect for what you want, and only takes one tax stamp. Not to mention, Daniel Defense is about as good as it gets. I'd upgrade the trigger to a Geissele SSA and add a BCM charging handle, put on some Troy flip up...

I'd really consider the 6.5CM personally. It's categorically superior to the 308 in every way except for ability to take down game at short range. I'd argue that shooting match grade ammo is cheaper ($22 a box!) in 6.5. Pretty hard to find FGMM for that price in 308. And why would you shoot...

PLUS, and I can't believe no one has mentioned this.............. 6.5 CREEDMOOR just SOUNDS so much cooler. I mean it's like CREED (strong beliefs) + MOOR (desolate barren land where outlaws live). Gives you this chilling sense of lonely righteous fury. Say it to yourself a couple times...

Buy a GAP-10! It's most likely more accurate than either of those, and fully customizable. :D Sorry, kind of a troll comment since you said you weren't interested, but I honestly think you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't seriously consider a GAP-10 in that decision. Good luck!

Not trying to be sarcastic, but more than you will need to zero it at any reasonable distance. :cool: Great optic for a battle rifle.

20" will reduce barrel harmonics (easier to find an accurate load), 26" will maximize velocity (ultimately requiring less holdover and reducing total wind drift). 308 isn't an awesome ELR round to begin with, though, so the benefit of a long barrel is dubious.

Got my hearing checked today, and at least there is minimal loss to the frequencies they test (up to 6kHz). Unfortunately, the ~15 kHz ringing is still loud and clear in the middle of my head... 7 days and counting. I've been eating up Vitamin E & Ginkgo Biloba, but no luck yet. I will never...
