Thanks steve123. There is little written about the Midas 1-6x compared to the higher magnification cousins. And it is an interesting scope, both lighter and shorter than the Vortex I was looking at. Still looking.

I assembled a 16" Criterion .308 using an Aero Precision upper, lower and hand guard. Went together easily, just like a big ar15... Looking at either the Vortex PST Gen II 1-6x, mrad or the Athlon 1-6x Midas BTR, mil reticle. I was able to see and handle the Vortex but any Athlon is rare...

Thanks for posting this. I have 2x 6-24x and am seeing something similar on my .204 Ruger 527 Varmint. I want to shoot it some more before I contact Athlon, but your post explains much to me. And I am pleased w/ the other scope and 3x 4-14x btr(s).
