    Spotting scope question.

A lot depends on what kind of spotting you will be doing. Clarity should be pretty similar if the only difference is objective size. Light capacity will only make a difference if you are spotting in low light conditions, and the larger objective will be better. For more generalized spotting...

    **6 Creedmoor**

Whether it works for you will depend on how long your barrel is and what your velocity goal is. H1000 will perform better in a longer barrel. I had a good load of 45.8gn H1000 shooting ~3050fps with Lapua brass in a 28” barrel. IIRC that was a slightly compressed load. As noted above, you...

    6.5CM - 147 ELD-M & 41.5 H4350 - Too Hot?

Not sure if you measure it, but how much moisture is in the powder will affect how hot it shoots. I try to keep my powder between 45-50% humidity.

    6.5CM - 147 ELD-M & 41.5 H4350 - Too Hot?

A 147 at 2784 in a 6.5 Creed is definitely on the hot side. 41.5 is at the top of the reloading charts, and IIRC Alpha brass has a bit less volume, so I think your pressure is up there. It wouldn’t hurt to step it down a bit, especially if you may be shooting at hotter temps.

    Customer Accuracy Expectations

I mostly shoot local matches, I am not a high-level competitor. But with a good load and a custom rifle, I expect to be able to shoot 1/2MOA 90% of the time at 100 and maybe 80% of the time at 200 with mild to moderate wind. I don’t shoot center fire at 50 yards, that’s only for rimfire...

Rifle to shoot Cutting Edge 50 Grain 22LR

I did some work with the CE 50gn bullets. I got a 6 twist Bartlein barrel and used the reamer spec’ed by CE. I got to the “meh” level of performance and got diverted to another project. I may still get back to it someday, but it’s not on my current project list. I agree with Geno, the CCI...

    **6 Creedmoor**

It’s been a while, but a long time ago I played with BR4s and 450s and thought they were pretty close. 450s are slightly harder, and maybe a little hotter, but pretty close. A lot of guys use the 450s as their go to primer because they are cheaper than the BR4s. I think you will get good...

Question for you reloaders on Load Dev

Agree with rustyinbend, but if this is for hunting you also want to track what that first shot does. Some rifles/loads will have a repeatable difference on the first shot, and if that is your kill shot you want to know exactly where it will go. You can also try to work for a load and/or barrel...

Whats the optimal freebore for a 6mm Creedmore?

.130 is on the short side if you are shooting heavier 6mm bullets (can’t speak to the ones you specified, I don’t shoot them). But i also think the SAAMI freebore is too long. Last time I had barrels done, I loaded rounds to what I wanted and had the smith adjust it. I think I ended up in the...

choosing a bullet for 6 creed

I could never get the SMK to shoot consistently in my 6 Creed. I hae had great results with 110 ATip, 109 Berger LRH and the 109ELD. The Berger and the ATip have better BCs and will perform better past 600 yards or so, but the ELD has worked for me, too.

    Load development 50 degrees

I’m current;y doing some work on a couple of new barrels, and it’s in the 40s. My solution is to load the mags in advance and keep them warm in my pockets until ready to shoot. Not a perfect solution, but at least the rounds aren’t chilled to ambient temp.

    Sako TRG in 260 Remington?

I have a TRG that was originally chambered 260 Rem. Shot great, went through a couple barrels as a 260. Currently chambered in 6 Creed, still shoots great. I have a new 260 barrel in the attic in case I want to switch back. There’s nothing about the TRG magazine that changes what...

    Sartorius Entris 64-1S Drifting

I use a Furman PST-8 but I can’t really say if it is better or worse than others, it’s the only one I have used. I originally got one for some electronic equipment, then got another one for reloading.

    Sartorius Entris 64-1S Drifting

IIRC, the instructions recommend turning it on a couple hours before use to let it get to a stable temperature. But I also run a line conditioner. On a bad day, I see maybe .010 drift, usually it is .006 or less during a loading session.

Shooters Global Pulse -> electronic level -shoot diagnostics tool

Thanks. Looks like there may be even greater adjustability than the Send-it level.
