I'm starting only my second load development and it's going pretty well. I seem to have two accuracy nodes at 41.5-43 grains and 36.5-38.5. Nosler brass and 210M primers. Is this fairly consistent with what others are seeing?
I'm curious as to how y'all develop loads using a magneto speed. I just bought one because of its simplicity to set up, but I realize that I can't chrono the loads as I shoot them for accuracy since the harmonics will be affected. I guess that means I shoot and then chrono the best...
I may be an idiot and am missing the obvious---but the shellholder jaws on my press won't automatically open or close---they stay closed. I can manually open them. I haven't tried it with a die yet as I just mounted the press yesterday. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks in advance.
A friend of mine lets me hunt for free on his ranch so I want to load some .270 ammo for him. I am not sure what powder to use as I don't shoot that cartridge. I've seen that the 4350s seem to do well as well as Re 22. I would rather not tap into my h-4350 because it's so hard to replace...
I have another novice question. The Forster press has a priming tool. Is there any problem with using that to prime the case rather than the hand-held priming tools? It seems that the tool on the press is awfully precise, but I am new to reloading. Thanks for the help!
I am new to reloading and want to develop a load for my 6.5 CM. I realize that H-4350 is a popular powder, but I cannot find it. What are some other powders for 140 grain a-max or Bergers? I apologize for asking a question that is probably common. I am new to this forum. Thanks
Finishing up the selections for my Hill Country Rifles build. Going with a 24 inch benchmark barrel, mcmillan a 3-5, Timney trigger, and will probably stick with remington action because I like the angle they eject the case. Will thread the barrel for a 30-p1 and am finalizing the contour...
Just about to sign off and wanted to see if anybody here has had a bad experience with Brown Precision out of California is. All of my dealings have been great, but I just want to perform as much diligence as I can. I'm paying surgeon money for the rifle and want to be sure. Thanks
I am new to precision shooting, but am already hooked. I've started reloading and that has been a lot of fun. Up to this point, I've shot very accurate hunting rifles and I finally took the plunge to have a rifle built specifically for tactical shooting competitions. I decided on a .260...
I have read the posts here for some time, but just joined. I am having a hunting rifle made and my guidance to the smith was to build a great deer rifle that could reach to 1,000 yards at the range. We decided on a 6.5x284, with a 24" Schneider barrel, a remington 700 factory action, a...
