    RandomGuy makes a good point about the base screws. Don't use the Chinese screws in the package. Get American screws. In your original post, u state the 70 target u have is drilled and tapped. U use the front receiver holes and the barrel holes approximately 6.5" in front of the receiver...

    Bubba.... Big DUH.... a control round feed rifle.... is SUPPOSED to feed smooth from magazine.... And hard-ish when u drop a shell in chamber and FORCE the extractor to jump the rim.... Unless the extractor is modded for such, it's NOT INTENDED to be loaded that way.... Bubba.....

    What I do know, is: Back in the day, when Ray Sweet built the FBI rifles, the chrome moly barrel was a Douglas, and the stainless was a Hart. Remington used Hart's on custom shop 40x rifles. I've see a ♡ stamp on early m40A1's. Then Schneider on the m40xx's.... The US Customs shooter...
