I was struggling with this too out to 300 until I just used the DSF function on my Kestrel Elite, now its dead nuts at multiple ranges out to that. Will be poking out to 400 soon.
Talking to my friends who work at Federal, what is happening is that every bit of capacity to make reloading components is being diverted to making ammo. Why would they ship out primers for a small percentage of reloaders (compared to gun owners in general) when they can put it into loaded ammo...
While I am not sure why anyone would NOT want a folding stock, it is important to consider the quality of the folding mechanism. Most quality chassis make this not an issue, but there is always some cheap POS that will rattle on you.
