I think cleaning needs of the action depends on your environment. I don't deal with cold temps or blowing moon dust in Florida so I just wipe down the bolt with a rag and apply a few dabs of grease from a tub of auto grease and that's worked just fine for me for a few years of shooting an AI...
Velocities in the log book since I was doing some load development that day. And earlier before load dev, I was shooting an already developed load so I have a simple range card written out on my cheat sheet that I was using so I can engage different targets without having to pull out a kestrel...
It's a good choice of gear. AXSR w/ TBAC 338SR U, TBAC bipod, atacr 7-35, vortex impact and AG game changer schmedium. I don't know how you manage without a can cover, I live in a warm climate and covers are a necessity and barrel cooling fans help.
I didn't understand the 22 BRA reamer on my first batch of brass and I didn't leave a false shoulder. I incorrectly assumed fireforming 22 BRA was like fire forming 6 BRA where the neck-shoulder junction will already have a slight crush fit on the brass. So I fireformed my first brass all...
Love that morale patch, was telling the neighbors the same thing yesterday when they wanted to talk about the latest neighborhood BS. On the Gray Ops page they show the 6BR mag in an AXSR, I wonder how that feeds. I'm guessing they are using an adapter like the one PFL338 makes.
They disco'd Elite Sand and are bring back Sage Green. I don't know if they shipped any sage rifles yet, I don't think I've seen anyone post one up yet.
I never looked at 300 WSM because I think it's a long case and for shooting heavy projectiles would not fit in a short action mag. I'd guess it's a great hunting option but poor target option for a mag fed short action. Probably a solid choice for medium action. However I don't know much about...
I have a SA mag ATX. I went with a 6.5 PRC first, S'Ok for whatever reasons I'm always struggling with mag length vs jump. I'm also setup for 7mm Sherman short, I don't have a barrel yet but I'm thinking it's going to be a better SA Mag choice.
There's probably not too many 6 BR shooters for AI's. Those that shoot 6 BR and wildcats are also split up further between BR, BRA, Dasher. And I personally wouldn't value a used barrel much vs just getting a new barrel where I'm sure of its history. Only reason to get a used barrel is if...
I never used anything more than a small drop of oil on the threads. Since the barrels aren't being torqued on I don't think there's a realistic chance of seizing.
Out testing my new Burt G Pro Model AT-X wings by SierraLima. So far I'm really liking them, not to awkward to carry around amd more stable with a nice hand rest area.
I have done it but would recommend the 6.5 Creedmoor for a mile. Spotting impact or misses is hard without great conditions. I need zero mirage to see and that doesn't happen much at my range. In low wind and high mirage sometimes I can hear a faint ding from 1 mile steel but that's without...
Inline roller handle and double bin systems are great. I've always run the Amanov heads on my 550b, I can't say I've compared them vs other heads and seen if they make more accurate ammo but they are nice so I'm happy with them.
