    @MikeRTacOps might be able to offer a short explainer. But I think now days it’s more done to either square an action face and chase threads when needed during a rebarreling - or because a department has some kind of policy about retaining a R700 action/serial number etc.

    ALS affects your draw speed minimally. An SLS hood will add .15 to .2 of a second. You can be .75 - .8 second out of the holster with a SLS+ALS holster, but you will always be quicker with less retention. You’ll be quickest with whatever you train with though, so either way just train.

    My opinion is worth what you’ve paid for it… But, ZCO should go hard or go home on this. 30mm tube, 44-50mm objective, 22oz, donut of death style reticle. Capped windage, exposed 10mil turret, good eye relief/eye box, and 3-18 or something similar.
