I read through the post but did not see this question covered (sorry if I missed it). Will short action AICS 5 & 10 round mags function in the 308 AW rifles? As far as I know the AE and AW share the same bolt head so maybe?

Thank you for all the support guys, I wish I had better news to report this morning but this just got worse. Yesterday they prohibited another rifle, the CZ 858. Same thing as Thursday, confiscation with no compensation, theft of our private property. What guns will they ban next week is unknown...

I think he is talking about the removable sleeve that contains the locking lug recesses on the AW. The locking lugs engage a heat-treated, steel locking ring insert pinned inside the front bridge of the action. The ring can be removed and replaced to refresh headspace control on older actions.
