    Terrapin issues

How does your Terrapin do with longer range targets? I can't recall ever having this issue with mine, it is very accurate with nearly everything I point it at, as long as I follow the user's manual

    Which PLRF TO Purchase

If you are shooting a rifle the Terrapin will handle pretty much everything you will likely shoot. You can spend more for more range but not sure what you will do with the additional ranging capability as a precision, long range shooter. If you want the bells and whistles for azimuth/elevation...

    leica geovid 10*42

I have been researching the Leica Geovid - the HD-B sounds like a nice option for hunting. Sort of a do-it-all. I am curious if there are any impressions from owners on the HD-B as far as practical use for hunting inside 1000 yards.

    gun safe

If you were to think about a gun safe - well, think again and do your research carefully. Here in Colorado we have had a couple of pretty bad wildfires and it prompted me to think about what is truly protected (fire and theft). The popular "gun safes" that are thought so highly of, at least...

    leica geovid 10*42

Which Geovid, HD-B or HD-R? I think there is a pretty big difference in the LRF performance between the two. I would be pretty surprised if the HD-B could only get out to 500m on a sunny day. The Geovid HD-B should be able to get pretty reliable readings for 1200m or less in sunny conditions...

    HENSHOLDT Spotter 45

    Does this look about right?

    HENSHOLDT Spotter 45

I got a reply back from EuroOptic - first no reticle special orders thru them - Spotter 60 is mildot "L" only and you can have it in any color you want as long as it is black. The Spotter 45 - H32 is your only choice now. That's it. If a special reticle is available it would need to go...

LRF reliability, I've had bad luck

One thing to keep in mind is that Vectronix just up'ed their warranty for the Terrapin and other discontinued PLRFs to 5 years. It tipped me overview the edge. I may regret it a little later if something newer comes out but knowing I have 5 years of warranty feels pretty good right now. I...

    HENSHOLDT Spotter 45

Thanks much. It provides much better picture. I am in a bit of a quandary on trying to decide if the one of the Hensoldt spotters is going to be my best choice, assuming I can get one of course. I like the idea of having the magnification of the Spotter 60 but suspect that for overall...

    HENSHOLDT Spotter 45

I sent EuroOptic an e-mail asking about reticles and availability as well as what the illuminated H32 looks like. If I get a response I will post that up. I also posted a reply to their vendor thread here on the Hide.

    HENSHOLDT Spotter 45

Looking at the Cassidian website it indicates custom ordering of reticles. It doesn't mention what is available. EuroOptic seems to the be a source to go to find out about that specific question. I can see matching up the popular rifle scope reticles with spotting scope reticles; MSR, P4F...

    HENSHOLDT Spotter 45

I believe "one shot ST" has the Spotter 45 with the H32 - he made a posting with pics - look up his threads started and you will find it. He hasn't been around much lately though. I sent him a pm recently and haven't received a reply. He has spent a good amount of time purchasing...

AI pricing on the new AT and AX Multi Caliber Systems

Is that for AT, AX, or both? Are you taking pre-order deposits for the LH versions - I made need to give you call since I can't seem to find a used AIAW LH these days.

    Labradar doppler chronograph

My wife got me the Oehler 35P for Fathers Day (is that a great wife or what?) - had some initial trouble on a cloudy day, but the time it was sunny and worked great and no apparenT POI shift like I get on the Magnetospeed. The only problem is the darn wind in Colorado Springs. It seems the...

    Labradar doppler chronograph

New versions are to be expected. It is up to the individual to decide at what point to take on new technology. If everyone waits for all the bugs to get worked we would be waiting a lot longer. I waited for the Magnetospeed V2. Like it a lot but then V3 came out. V2 works well enough...

Rifle Scopes 2014's Best Scope ShootOut

calz Great effort. I really appreciate the thought and effort you put into the project. Maybe I missed it somewhere but will you consider redoing the tests to add other scopes not originally included or add new scope that have recently come to the market? It would be interesting to have a...

Rifle Scopes NEED HELP, setting ZeroStop of STEINER Military 5-25 × 56 mm

I will throw in my observation from this morning. I mounted my new 5-25x56 MSR on Spuhr 13mil base. I was rather pleasantly surprised when I went to check the boresight and it was the reticle appeared to be a good match with the bore view. Went to zero and first round 1mil high, made my...
