To elaborate: Loop the sling around your firing arm, use other arm to support against barricade/tripod/support. A quickly adjustable sling is almost a necessity when shooting any sort of kneeling/sitting/standing "unconventional" firing positions.

I can confirm as well... A 20" Bartlein on my AIAW gets 2640 fps with FGMM. About 100 fps less with SWA and Black Hills 308.
