Yes, all those blanks are un-contored. I simply buy them that way because everyone wants something different, or there's a weight limit to meet for whatever class or application. So I built an air cylinder follow rest for one of my lathes and contour them as needed per application.

I keep about 30-40 blanks on hand in the commo twist rates and calibers, if you need a blank doe something I can sell one. I just stock them for myself and friends, keep me busy fitting barrels. All k&p cut rifled barrels. I know there's an 8 twist .308 in the rack, but it's long, like 34" or...

I'm sorry boys, but at -17f today, checking zeros, swapping barrels, it's super bright with the sun that low. Camera is just shade, doesn't pick up much for color. It's cold. It's not to deserty for the desert tech rifles here

Ar-50 armalite brakes are 1-14 thread, 1 inch 14 threads per inch. The k&p brakes are typically that thread also, unless it was a custom order. They're quite efficient compared to a round brake. I use a mini version of the k&p a friend makes on my dt SRS a1 on the .338 Lapua improved and 37xc...

I've shot a 30 lb .50 bmg a bit without a brake. You prepare for it, touch it off and it's pretty fun. Fin enough to do it again. But I will say, don't do it to much in a close period of time. You won't be able to focus your eyes . It's a bit hard on the retinas. And there's a world of...

Cleaning supplies for the big gun.........

I use Montana extreme copper killer. High ammonia content. Eats copper and brass fast. I don't use a jag, I simply buy those stainless steel 50 cal brushes, and I wrap a 3" shotgun cleaning patch around the brush. My cleaning rod is simply a 3/8 stainless steel rod, I drill and tap a 8-32...

looking for new hunting rifle for large western game

I won a weatherby vanguard multicam rifle, factory cerakoted, threaded barrel, chambered in .300 wby mag. I really don't need it. Kids shooting trap, selling raffle tickets for something and I won it. I wanna turn it into $$$ to put towards a nice trap thrower for the kids and their school...

I've got an XLR element 3.0, with a full length arca rail, short arca or picatinny rail optional also. These are ambidextrous, left or right hand, cip length mag length. Also have an adjustable bag rider for it. It'd be in the $600-700 range dep on what you'd want. Pm if interested and I'll...

I have a 6.5 prc mag for the dt, I messed around with the 300!wsm and 7 wsm on the mag. I don't see why it won't work, but I haven't tried any loaded rounds, say toss a 300 Norma barrel on so the chamber is large enough and try to cycle a few dummy rounds. Same with the 7prc. I've chambered a...

Take a magic marker, draw a line on the shoulder your brass and on the case web. Just chamber a fired round and see if it's tight on the web, or the shoulder, or both. Also try it on a sized piece. One factor to consider on the desert tech is the 3 lug bolt design. It's really nice as far as...

I did get an email with a shipping notification. So we'll see but I'm guessing a new bolt is on the way. Problems always arise but they sure make it hard to deal with in comparison to other companies.

Ha, another round of dumb ass emails and excuses from dt. How the warranty manager needs me to send more parts so they can inspect them to make sure the bolt they manufactured with a chamfer around the firing pin hole is the problem. I sent a nice email back explaining the importance of...

There's no reason for an intervention from another party. Another round of emails today, an incompetence on dt part to replace a part they manufactured incorrectly. The few hundred bucks to buy another bolt is a bargain in comparison to buying more rifles from them in the future.

I know. But I'm just going to guess today they'll want $50 for an inspection fee, and $15 to send me my bolt back. If im lucky . Maybe they'll ask for $50 ospe, and $50 cleaning and return shipping. We'll see. I'm really good at drinking and insulting people. And I can even be good at...

Several years back, a neighbor bought an SRS a1 on a desert tech close out deal when the a2 was coming out. He got a .473 bolt or .308 type bolt head as well as a lapua bolt. I did some barrels for it, but nothing for the .308 bolt. I bought that bolt when I bought my srs a1. I been using...

Cheytac is .640 diameter by face. Lapua is .585. the 50bmg bolt nose depth is deep to accommodate the web in the case. But on the cheytac bolt nose depth, or bolt face to end of bt vs the lapua type bolts on the SRS it's fine. They can run the same depth, which means firing pin is the same...

I'd like to see .585" diameter bolt head for the hti, or in other words .338 lapua size bolt face. For thoe of you who can't measure, I'll leave it at that. I don't care about magazine feeding those cartridges probably easy enough to make a bushing or magazine adapter to hold an existing...
