Has anyone built a 6.5 creed on a long action and long-loaded the ammo?

bohem, I tried sending a pm, but it wasn’t allowed. I read your reply to my thread and I have some questions. Was your chamber a standard 6.5mm-06 Asquare or an A.I. or other? What twist rate and length were the barrels? Did they shoot well out to 1,000 yards? What type of shooting did...

Has anyone built a 6.5 creed on a long action and long-loaded the ammo?

Thanks for your insights. I’ve been considering 6.5mm-06, but thought I would ask about the 6.5 Creed to cover the bases. If you have real world experience with the 6.5mm-06, please reply or send me a PM. Thanks!

Has anyone built a 6.5 creed on a long action and long-loaded the ammo?

If so, what velocities did you obtain and how does it perform?

    Giraud Tri-Way Trimmer

When the drill head is opened up to fit the shaft of the tri-way cutter, the retaining pieces are so far back in the drill, that it can’t be tightened on to the shaft.

    Giraud Tri-Way Trimmer

I just received my Giraud tri-way trimmer last week. It works great. However, when I tried using my old corded Dewalt drill, the shaft was just a little too short for the keyless chuck on the drill to grab it. I was able to use my battery powered drill, but it would be nice if I could run this...

    LabRadar question

I found that baffling or structural steel in the path of the LABRADAR will impair function. People, including me, have tried all sorts of ideas, but the unit really needs a clear path to function properly. When I took it to a range that had wooden structure over the shooting tables, it worked...

    .308 Win - Setting Setback Part 2

Thanks to all for your input. I don’t like resizing rifle brass, but sometimes it has to be done. I sent some brass off for resizing a couple of years ago, but was not about to do that with Lapua brass, so I am sorting out these details of precision resizing. The feedback gives me assurance that...

    .308 Win - Setting Setback Part 2

Exactly, I am using the case comparator for relative measurements; not absolute measurements.

    .308 Win - Setting Setback Part 2

Yes, and my plan was to base the setback on cases that I knew were fired from the bolt gun. Raw data from a 10 round sample that were fired in the Rem 700, as measured using my Stoney point case comparator, has 9 cases at 3.637” and one case at 3.636”. Out of curiosity, I also measured 10...

    .308 Win - Setting Setback Part 2

My previous post explained issues I had with getting any appreciable setback in resizing some once-fired Lapua brass. After calling the die manufacturer, I swapped out the expander ball with one for a smaller caliber, removing the expander from process, but keeping the de-priming pin in place...

    .308 Win - Setting setback

I do lubricate the inside of the case necks and of course the case body. My method for the necks is to smear some Imperial wax on a plastic brush for the caliber I am loading and run it inside the case necks. A little goes a long way, so the cases are not gooped up with lube. In the past, I...

    .308 Win - Setting setback

Follow-up: I called Hornady and they told me that I could remove the expander ball and replace it with the connector from a Hornady pistol die. This would allow me to de-cap and body size in one step. I could follow this up with the mandrel step. Hopefully, this will address the issues.

    .308 Win - Setting setback

One thing I could do is remove the expander and use the resizer as a body die.

    .308 Win - Setting setback

I’m working on setting up my seating die to resize some once-fired Lapua brass. I use Imperial sizing wax for lube. I am not using a special resizing die; just a normal Hornady .308 resizer. I was able to set the die to the target setback between .001” and .002”. The problem I am having is that...

    Possible LRF Deal

Hey All, Is this a good deal from Eurooptic or should consider other LRF options? I want an LRF that will range deer and steel plates out to 1,000 yards. Also, I don’t want to waste money on a product that has functional problems, so reliability is important...

    Basic LRF

I would like to range steel plates and game such as deer. On board ballistics is very appealing. Weather would be nice to have, but not essential. Can this be had in a quality LRF for under $750? Thanks!

    Basic LRF

I’m interested in an LRF for ranges out to 1K yds. I’m not sure if Binos would work for me since I wear glasses and one eye is extremely dominant. What are your recommendations? Thanks!

    Pressure signs or not?

Since the brass was new, I didn’t bump the shoulder. I was simply straightening the necks and trying to make the cases consistent.

    Pressure signs or not?

Thanks for the reply. Those are fired cases and there is a ridge at that rough to smooth transition.

    Pressure signs or not?

Here are some cases from recent .270 Win loads I tested in a bolt gun. I am concerned about the appearance of the ridge near the case head. Note that the brass was new, run through an FL resizing die, and chamfered, resized, and trimmed to consistent length. The load was 44.0 g of 4064 - a...
