Optic objective lens very close to barrel

Update: using about 20+ pounds of manual pressure using my hand, there was a minute amount of flexion. Not enough to make contact with barrel. I used a belt sander to give me an extra mm of clearance lol. I’ll take a close up slow motion video and update you guys. I’m also going to use some...

Optic objective lens very close to barrel

If I decide to go with a little bit taller optic rings, I will need a way to raise my cheek weld even though it’s maxed out. Do any of you have any recommendations on a cheap pad or something I can add to my comb to get my eye where it needs to be?

Optic objective lens very close to barrel

Haha I see where this is going. Sorry, but no I don’t believe that “most” businesses prioritize science over money. However, I’m sure that many “good” businesses will. I don’t have a method for sifting through moral integrity and scientific accuracy of businesses. So I’m looking into things...

Optic objective lens very close to barrel

These companies are often business 1st, science 2nd. Not saying MFG isn’t often accurate. I just expect a wide birth of “CYA” when it comes down to recommendations.

Optic objective lens very close to barrel

Thanks guys. I’ll try pushing it down a bit to see if contact occurs. Also will try the play doh idea. I’ll also shave a bit off bottom of lens cap. Maybe with a belt sander. I’m a little resistant to getting higher rings because my cheek weld is perfection right now. And cheek comb height is...

Optic objective lens very close to barrel

It’s 4 pieces of paper between the cap and barrel.

Optic objective lens very close to barrel

Wondering if this height will be a problem, such as recoil causing contact between barrel and optic? I like these lens caps and would prefer to keep them. Obviously my clearance would be better without them. I’m running low rings because it gets the optic line-of-sight to perfect cheek weld...

    Trigger issue

Sear height was already within normal range. Good thought though. Sear engagement adjustment solved the issue.

    Trigger issue

Hi guys, I recently ordered the following trigger: Bix'n Andy Remington 700 TacSport PRO - X, Two-Stage, Top Left Safety, w/ Gator shoe TRBX0121 When I put everything together, I noticed that the rifle unintentionally fires itself when I switch the safety from “on to off” position. This is...

    R700 clone trigger recommendation

Yeah the gator one seems wider and more tactile. Seems better for shooter feedback. That’s the one I’m after.

    R700 clone trigger recommendation

That’s the one I wanted originally, but they don’t make the 2-stage in a left-handed configuration. It’s right hand only.

    R700 clone trigger recommendation

This is the one I’m thinking I’ll prob go with. I ordered a defiance action (lefty). It’s a R700 clone. Grayboe Phoenix 2 (lefty) stock. I should be compatible with the above: tac sport pro with a top left safety, yeah?

Parts hard to find for my 6.5 build

Thank you guys for your suggestions. Working with Russ at bugholes and they’re very helpful. They ordered some parts for me. Going with AntiX (lefty) and Bartlein #3, 9/16x24 TPi. A couple questions: Considering Phoenix 2 chassis/stock by Grayboe. Anyone have experience with this company or...

Parts hard to find for my 6.5 build

Frustrated. I’ve built many ar platform type rifles. However, started some research for parts for a precision 6.5 creed bolt action repeater. Can’t find any actions in stock! This will be a lefty rifle. I want it to be lighter weight for hunting but not anorexic. I’ve looked at surgeon...

    Cleaning rod size for 6.5cm?

The rod fits. I would describe it as mild contiguous contact as I push it through. Just don’t wanna damage/stress the bore.
