Something is indeed off. Have you measured the brass pre/post firing from 2 different rifles? I’m wondering if the chamber is out of spec. Bolt head engagement off too. Just thoughts. I have “fixed” several CA rifles. They all had different problems. QC seems to be an issue there.

crazy thing, try the barnes 127g in the RPR. The hornady shoots like a dream in my desert tech but not the RPR. Also how many rounds through it? Check the muzzle break as well and make sure its tight and centered.
