PRS is (time) weighted to favor the bolt gun, as it should be. But don't think for a minute thats reality. Gas guns can and do compete and depending on how the stage is designed can do very well. If you want to compete in PRS do it and have fun.
Where you able to fully chamber the loaded round? Where you able to chamber a empty case? Might not be a bad idea to take a look at the chamber. Sharpe is your friend.
How much are you bumping back the shoulder right now? This is just something your going to have to work around. Each rifle has its process/recipe some are simple and others are complicated. Bust out the sharpe, paint a case and chamber it. I wouldn't buy anything just yet till you figure out...

To me it sounds like you need to talk to a couple builders, and select one and start your journey from there. A lot of builders have preferences and can guide you further. I know who's building my next rifle and will leave the action selection up to them. If you go with the right builder you...
