Gunsmithing Sticking cases (new 700 SPS)

I just read your post in the reloading dept. you said you lapped the lugs. You only have .003" to play with if your headspace was bare min. to start with. Have a qualified gunsmith check you headspace I would not go any farther with loading for it until. your playing with fire now ,be safe and...

I agree, definitly check your brass any brass that has been streched and sized back that far is not long to this world, even one time, it will fail sooner than later.

Gunsmithing Sticking cases (new 700 SPS)

Sounds like you should have head space checked! real cheap insurance[be safe]... One way of adjusting your sizing of your brass to your chamber is redding shell holders they come in .002" increments in thickness so your shell holder still bottoms out against die but does not set shoulder back as...

    30-06 or 300WM/WSM

tough to beat the 06. Range Report Unsure if I'm in the right place

I"ve loaded , shot and hunted with both. My advise would to go with the 280 for an all around catrige it shoots about the same trajectory with plenty of knock down power at resonable hunting ranges [using the proper bullet and weight]. and if you think the 280 kicks like hell you are probably...

    Primer pocket uniforming

just seat a primer in one, if it seats more than about .003"-.004" deeper than the base it is a bit much and will effect the the optimun penitration of the firing pin. If this is the case replace your uniformer.

I have been loading for the 308 for years and in the past loaded with 748win powder which is real similar to blc-2 and 175smk, the rifles that I loaded for all liked mid to upper end loads but by all means start low and work up and another...

88blazer, have you shot the unsc bench rest matches before? I was thinking about shooting it myself, but dont have a good spotting scope. As far as the practical rifle matches go they do not allow any magnums from what kevid d. told me, 30-06 type cartriges are max. The magnums just tear...
